Why we did it: Our clients were born & raised in Winnipeg then travelled and lived around North America pursuing and developing their careers. Upon learning that they would be returning they wanted to build their forever home & bring the culture from their travels with them. Our goal was to recreate a modern farmhouse nestled close to the French area of the city. The aesthetic was a blend of clean architecture with hints of natural materials for a warm & welcoming environment. This large loft is a celebration of the simple but dramatic structure of the tenement building it sits in. The former attic space is graced with extraordinarily long rafter ties and a uniquely sloped, corbeled brick chimney. Floors are original pine plank, unadorned and raw. This has been a great project for us and our clients. We worked with our client from the very beginning of this project to make their dream come true. We assisted them to choose a right place for their needs. We created a salon suites concept design for them that they can use a runway area to maximize the use, closed office suites, retail display , photoshoot place, a cafe' and a kitchen. We carried our construction documents set through permitting. We assisted them during construction with construction administration services. Our clients describe the outcome of this design as "show stopper and functional". We are glad to help them with realize their dream business and gaining a life-time relationship.
