Large transitional style kitchen remodel for under 100K . Wow what a change. The original kitchen area consisted of a small u shaped cabinet layout with an eat in area next to it for a small kitchen table. We changed everything for the new design. The small kitchen sink window and eat in table window were removed and a new large central window was installed. A new large opening was created between the kitchen and dining room as well as a new large opening between the existing dining room and adjacent family room. This gave the whole first floor a new open floor plan. New Coretec Plus 5” Carolina Pine flooring was installed over entire first floor. New Fabuwood cabinetry in the Galaxy Frost door style were used on the perimeter and contrasting Fieldstone cabinetry in the Bristol door in Peppercorn finish were used for the island. These cabinets and colors give the kitchen a bright clean look with simple lines. A large farm sink was chosen for in front of the new picture window offering views of the clients great back yard. Two different countertops surfaces were used, Jet Mist Honed for the perimeter and Mont Blanc Honed for the island. The new large island provides lots of seating for family and friends ( it’s my favorite part of this kitchen remodel ). All the first floor drywall was touched up, painted, and Voila!! A whole new first floor.

This simple, timeless, refreshing master bath renovation was designed by Kimberly Kerl with Kustom Home Design. One of the most striking differences in this newly designed space is the openness and brilliance of the bay window tub area. This space was once crowded and overbearing with a large garden tub installed in an oversized cultured marble surround. The old tub protruded into the space and limited the flow and balance of the room. By removing the garden tub and replacing it with a deep freestanding soaking tub, we were able to enlarge the visual feel of the space tremendously. The transitional style incorporates traditional elements with modern and contemporary designs in a pleasing, harmonious balance. The small walled in shower stall was replaced with and enlarged corner style custom tile shower with low walls and frameless half glass panels. The custom shower has marble corner shelves, white elongated subway tile, multiple shower heads, miniature marble hex tile flooring with a contrasting tile border and polished chrome hardware. The vanity was updated with a 36" high raised counter, full overlay white doors and drawers, polished chrome pulls and knobs, and under-mount sinks set in a marble top with shaped edge. The basic layout of the space and placement of major plumbing fixtures remained the same, but the size and orientation of the fixtures was modified in a way which vastly improves the look, feel and flow of the master bathroom space. This project features a handcrafted cedar barrel sauna with a panoramic front window and integrated porch, installed as a complete outdoor wellness setup. The sauna is built from solid Western Red Cedar and equipped with a wood-burning sauna stove capable of reaching temperatures of up to 194°F, providing a traditional and authentic sauna experience. Western Red Cedar is naturally resistant to moisture, mold, and decay, making it one of the most durable wood species for long-term outdoor use. The solid cedar construction remains stable through seasonal temperature changes and requires only simple and occasional maintenance. The interior typically needs only basic cleaning and ventilation, while the exterior can be treated with standard wood oils if desired. Avondale real thin stone veneer from the Quarry Mill creates dimension and color variation on the exterior of this beautiful traditional home. We kept the same basic layout of the kitchen but added a pantry cabinet to the right of the fridge. We added recessed lighting and updated pendants. Added a new backsplash which integrates the colors of the granite countertop and floor. A warm gray laminate floor contrasts the cabinets nicely and we trimmed out the whole room with matching base and casing.

We started out with a fairly large townhome kitchen with very basic builder grade cabinetry. My clients knew they wanted a nice white kitchen with lots of storage. We suggested a few ideas such as a built-in hutch and contrasting island. The cabinets are the Bridgewood Advantage Mission door style in maple. The countertop is Cambria quartz.
