High on the cliffs overlooking the sea, this residence exudes a sense of place—seemingly originating from the ledge that supports it. Jutting forms and crashing volumes are reminiscent of the relationship between the land and the sea. An irregular footprint radiates from the entry tower. Strictly following the client's wish for minimal use of structure and maximum use of glass, the walls rise up on ball bearings and effortlessly roll away. The second and third stories of the tower feature the master bath suite. With a glass-enclosed shower on an outside wall, the openness continues. The jacuzzi tub offers a 360-degree vista of the five lighthouses adorning the coast from Maine to Cape Ann.

We furnished this world traveler’s crash pad in a minimalist style. We layered neutrals and textures to create a space she could come home to and relax while here in Vermont visiting friends and family. This condo is just steps to the waterfront and located in the trendy south end arts district.

Homeowners chimneys were unused and in disrepair so we brought them down to the roofline, and capped them off. It's very important to address chimney issues sooner than later, as one of these clients chimneys came crashing down onto the roof in a wind storm!

CA fam ?—ever heard of the “10 Biggest Renovation Regrets”? #7 is a total trap that’s wrecked 90% of folks I know. My bestie just texted crying: her new kitchen walls are moldy, floors are buckling, and she’s out $30K fixing it.
Let’s be real: stop believing “CA is too dry for moisture control”. Especially if you’re in SF (fog city) or LA (rainy Nov-Mar)—painting walls with regular paint is basically rolling out a red carpet for mold. My neighbor’s walls last year? Peeling like a bad sunburn, and her oven grew mold (gross, I know).
Here’s the fix:
❶ Walls: Moisture-blocking primer + anti-mold paint (Sherwin-Williams’ “MoldBlock” is CA mom-approved).
❷ Floors: Water-resistant composite wood (skip cheap solid wood—it swells when humidity hits).
❸ Wet areas (kitchen/bath): Mini dehumidifier (Amazon “CA dehumidifier” under $100 saves your walls!).
No one wants renovation regrets, but dodging this? Saves you 30% in repair cash. Let’s enjoy CA sun and fog—without mold crashing the party. ?️

"Dramatically positioned along Pelican Crest's prized front row, this Newport Coast House presents a refreshing modern aesthetic rarely available in the community. The result is a space where architecture and engineering align—large operable walls open effortlessly to extend the living area to the ocean, while precision seals and acoustically tested performance (up to STC 34) ensure tranquility when closed. The design celebrates transparency, transforming each room into a gallery of light, ocean, and air.
NanaWall’s SL45 system achieves this balance with energy efficiency, durability, and quiet operation, allowing this modern retreat to remain peaceful even as waves crash below.

When those views beckon the family outside, the Georgian Bay room is an ideal oasis to take in the rugged scenery in sophisticated comfort. The Tamarack team built integrated drop-down screens and shutters into the framing that allow the family to relax in harmony with the elements. The outdoor gas fireplace adds another layer of bliss to be savoured while taking in the unobstructed, serene views. “We watch the sunsets every evening and fall asleep to crashing waves at night,” says Linda. “Life does not get any better than that. We are incredibly grateful to have this little bit of paradise on Georgian Bay and for the outstanding teamwork of Tamarack, Foreshew Design and all those who collaborated to bring our vision to life.”

Whether you are crashing after a long day of work or snuggling up with a cup of tea on a cold winter morning, your bedroom should be a haven. We seek to create a retreat for you that surrounds you in colors, fabrics, and finishes that bring you happiness and relaxation.

This multi-zone playroom is a dream come true for a family with a teenaged boy and two tween girls! With a hangout area full of bean bags, disco balls, a neon peace sign and a modern acrylic bubble chair, an indoor basketball court with a padded floor, and a climbing wall and foam pit (perfect for dunking baskets and crashing in), there’s no shortage of fun. The multiple swings—like the aerial silks for flips and the trapeze—add to the excitement. We kept the space open, with distinct zones for each activity, and used different flooring to make each zone feel unique while keeping the family together. The calming green color adds a pop of vibrancy, while the art area encourages the kids to express their creativity. Whether it's blowing off steam on the climbing wall or getting together with friends, this playroom has quickly become the family’s favorite hangout spot.
