In the laundry room we reused a cabinet from the bathroom to create a folding area and Catch-all. This interactive use of resourcefullness helped to keep the job on budget and maintain the same look in the laundryroom.

The new open floorplan required installation of wood flooring to match the existing flooring in the living room. Flooring was sanded and sealed to match. Created island workspace to allow for interaction with guests while entertaining. Peter Winson

Georgia Coast Design & Construction - Southern Living Custom Builder Showcase Home at St. Simons Island, GA Built on a one-acre, lakefront lot on the north end of St. Simons Island, the Southern Living Custom Builder Showcase Home is characterized as Old World European featuring exterior finishes of Mosstown brick and Old World stucco, Weathered Wood colored designer shingles, cypress beam accents and a handcrafted Mahogany door. Inside the three-bedroom, 2,400-square-foot showcase home, Old World rustic and modern European style blend with high craftsmanship to create a sense of timeless quality, stability, and tranquility. Behind the scenes, energy efficient technologies combine with low maintenance materials to create a home that is economical to maintain for years to come. The home's open floor plan offers a dining room/kitchen/great room combination with an easy flow for entertaining or family interaction. The interior features arched doorways, textured walls and distressed hickory floors.

Removed the peninsula to create the large island. Also removed the dining table in the sunroom to crate a conversation area so everyone can interact. Incorporate a 60 inch range as well.

Functional and stunning: this award winning, contemporary kitchen renovation creates a warm and inviting family gathering place. Opening up the walls creates a welcomed interaction with the dining and living rooms, while taking advantage of the natural light. This provides an airy and cozy, family-friendly ambiance. A clutter-free design ensures a convenient place for every kitchen necessity. A simplified material palette uses accents of marble and walnut to unify the space and add a sleek touch. The Asian landscape is known for a meditative feeling of serenity. Stone and natural elements invite contemplation, while carefully-shaped plantings will show the human interaction with the land. By creating a meandering paths it's believed that straight pathways allow malevolent spirits to go directly into the house, while a zigzag pathway hinders their movement into the living areas of a home.

Conceived more similar to a loft type space rather than a traditional single family home, the homeowner was seeking to challenge a normal arrangement of rooms in favor of spaces that are dynamic in all 3 dimensions, interact with the yard, and capture the movement of light and air. As an artist that explores the beauty of natural objects and scenes, she tasked us with creating a building that was not precious - one that explores the essence of its raw building materials and is not afraid of expressing them as finished. We designed opportunities for kinetic fixtures, many built by the homeowner, to allow flexibility and movement. The result is a building that compliments the casual artistic lifestyle of the occupant as part home, part work space, part gallery. The spaces are interactive, contemplative, and fun.
