We teamed up with an investor to design a one-of-a-kind property. We created a very clear vision for this home: Scandinavian minimalism. Our intention for this home was to incorporate as many natural materials that we could. We started by selecting polished concrete floors throughout the entire home. To balance this masculinity, we chose soft, natural wood grain cabinetry for the kitchen, bathrooms and mudroom. In the kitchen, we made the hood a focal point by wrapping it in marble and installing a herringbone tile to the ceiling. We accented the rooms with brass and polished chrome, giving the home a light and airy feeling. We incorporated organic textures and soft lines throughout. The bathrooms feature a dimensioned shower tile and leather towel hooks. We drew inspiration for the color palette and styling by our surroundings - the desert.

Located in stylish Chelsea, this updated five-floor townhouse incorporates both a bold, modern aesthetic and sophisticated, polished taste. Palettes range from vibrant and playful colors in the family and kids’ spaces to softer, rich tones in the master bedroom and formal dining room. DHD interiors embraced the client’s adventurous taste, incorporating dynamic prints and striking wallpaper into each room, and a stunning floor-to-floor stair runner. Lighting became one of the most crucial elements as well, as ornate vintage fixtures and eye-catching sconces are featured throughout the home. Transforming key spaces in a home can really change the overall look and feel, especially in main living areas such as a kitchen or primary bathroom! Our goal was to create a bright, fresh, and timeless design in each space. We accomplished this by incorporating white cabinetry and by swapping out the small, seemingly useless island for a large and much more functional peninsula. And to transform the primary bathroom into a serene sanctuary, we incorporated a new open and spacious glass shower enclosure as well as a luxurious free-standing soaking tub, perfect for ultimate relaxation.

THE PINSTRIPE RETREAT Sharp black stripes, suited for spa days. DESIGN DESCRIPTION This bathroom turns a simple idea into a showstopper: slim ribbons of black mosaic run across a bright white floor, drawing the eye from the vanity through to the shower like tailored pinstripes. A floating espresso double vanity keeps the floor open, while a round mirror hangs from a slender ceiling rod in front of a clerestory window, letting daylight frame the reflection. Textured glass panels give the walk-in shower privacy without blocking light, and inside, a ceiling-mounted rainfall head and a handheld wand make every shower feel like a spa visit. White sliding Shaker doors conceal generous storage, and a pierced ceramic garden stool adds a playful finishing touch. Bright, orderly and smartly detailed, it is a bathroom where every line has a purpose.
