This fantastic client envisioned old crumbly Georgian pink brick for her NYC apartment. The bricks were all taped off, and laid out, troweled on with a textured plaster. One of my all time favorite rooms!

masonry restoration underway - in process of grinding out all mortar joints. This is very delicate only for experienced masons as this delicate stone cannot be damaged or replaced.
(when your mortar joints start to crumble and turn dark, its probably time to re-point for a beautiful, like new look)

New dry-stacked lannon stone walls and steps were designed to replace the crumbling existing walls. A new concrete patio with inlaid bluestone runnels mimics the angle and materials of the larger upper patio.

This driveway needed a lot of repair from cracks and crumbling. I did a multi layered skip trowel and brick border for curb appeal. This concrete overlay is called a Tuscan slate.

This is the "BEFORE" front porch. Crumbling porch and too-steep risers on the steps. Check out the "After" photos. Turf lawn removed and all new landscaping installed. California friendly, with an emphasis on Australians and edibles. Rainwater redirected into creek bed and retention areas.

The old brick steps were crumbling apart. We made the new landing wider, and extended it farther from the house, with the steps larger as well. The steps are pinned to the house with rebar dowels to prevent settling and movement. We used about 1.5 yards of concrete, colored inegrally with Solomon Slate color, and a Brickform Light Gray Release agent.

This is the second project designed and executed for this client. They wanted a colorful water wise landscape that would be low maintenance. Designer had to replace the crumbling retaining wall and build new steps and a walk way. Many colorful, water wise plants were used.
