Inspiration for a large timeless look-out basement remodel in Boston

The clients wanted a bright, white space that would be on par with current design trends but would also stand the test of time, having a classic feel. We removed the old dining nook against the wall to create space for the upgraded Cafe refrigerator and pantry cabinets. Removing a wall on the opposite side of the kitchen created space for open shelving and more cabinet space. In the powder room, we added a patterned floor tile to make a statement in the small but quaint space. The navy vanity and mix of black and brass fixtures took a note from the kitchen finishes. The open brass shelving unit hung above the toilet added a touch of glamour and function.

A merge of modern lines with classic shapes and materials creates a refreshingly timeless appeal for these secondary bath remodels. All three baths showcasing different design elements with a continuity of warm woods, natural stone, and scaled lighting making them perfect for guest retreats.

This modern lake house is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The residence overlooks a mountain lake with expansive mountain views beyond. The design ties the home to its surroundings and enhances the ability to experience both home and nature together. The entry level serves as the primary living space and is situated into three groupings; the Great Room, the Guest Suite and the Master Suite. A glass connector links the Master Suite, providing privacy and the opportunity for terrace and garden areas. Won a 2013 AIANC Design Award. Featured in the Austrian magazine, More Than Design. The homeowners, residing in a 1990s home, sought to update their primary bathroom to create a fresh, open space that still felt warm and cozy. The existing layout presented several challenges, including an undesirable first view of the toilet as you entered the room. They also wanted to reconfigure the tub and enlarge the shower for a more functional and luxurious experience. Additionally, the current vanity placement caused problems, as the door would frequently collide with someone using the sink. We rotated the tub 90 degrees to allow for more openness and room for the new toilet location. We changed the built in standard size tub to a deep freestanding tub with waterfall filler. The vanity was moved away from the entrance, helping with the flow in and out of the room. We also built a dedicated space for seating, along with convenient niches for shampoo and soap.

Most porch additions look like an "after-thought" and detract from the better thought-out design of a home. The design of the porch followed by the gracious materials and proportions of this Georgian-style home. The brick is left exposed and we brought the outside in with wood ceilings. The porch has craftsman-style finished and high quality carpet perfect for outside weathering conditions. The space includes a dining area and seating area to comfortably entertain in a comfortable environment with crisp cool breezes from multiple ceiling fans. Love porch life at it's best!

Location: Nantucket, MA, USA This classic Nantucket home had not been renovated in several decades and was in serious need of an update. The vision for this summer home was to be a beautiful, light and peaceful family retreat with the ability to entertain guests and extended family. The focal point of the kitchen is the La Canche Chagny Range in Faience with custom hood to match. We love how the tile backsplash on the Prep Sink wall pulls it all together and picks up on the spectacular colors in the White Princess Quartzite countertops. In a nod to traditional Nantucket Craftsmanship, we used Shiplap Panelling on many of the walls including in the Kitchen and Powder Room.
