This corner front Arcadia home just off Exeter was in need of a massive overhaul. The owner did incredible work on the interior and didn't compromise on the landscape project! By August (nearly 6 mos. later) two small areas (7 to 9 sq. ft. max) to the left of the Pelicans slowly started declining. This timing is confirmed by photos we diligently took every time we visited. We aerated, added todressing, and overseeded. By late September, early October, we noted no improvement. On October 13th we again came in and removed dead (smelly) sod, and re-sodded with 1&1/2 pieces of new Turf Type Tall Fescue, exactly matching the original sod, from the same source near Woodburn, Oregon. It took less than 2 rolls of sod. Each roll is 5 square feet. The only other areas that had this appearance, (or smell), were acknowledged as obvious "dog spots". We may need to run a soil test on the sod removed, if necessary. We also noted that there were no spots in the front yard, where the lawn is not enclosed.

A complete front yard makeover that started with some old massive trees and a sloped front yard in dead grass. We designed and built an absolutely beautiful new front yard that serves our clients in their green thumb endeavours!! Utilizing Kodah wall block we built stepped raised planters as retaining to create tiers and poured an exposed aggregate wide front entrance sidewalk with entrance pillars and coach lighting. We also left one large spruce and "spruced it up" with some fieldstone to cover the roots. Talk about curb appeal!!

This was a dried out weed strewn desert of a corner lot - including front, side and back gardens, with enormous parkways as well. The entire landscape hadn’t been touched in many years. We removed all the dead grass and weeds, created swales and berms, a big rain garden, paths and seating areas all with permeable paving. Also added fruit trees and veggie beds, and transformed the space completely. Now, the garden is full of birds, butterflies and pollinators! And the clients got a sizable rebate through the LADWP landscape rebate program!

A large solar heated salt water pool graces the back garden, A contemporary style gazebo adds a shaded sitting spot during hot summer days. Artificial lawn has been laid to save on water bills and prevent dead spots from the owners' two dogs. Spectacular views of the wine country and San Pablo Bay can be enjoyed here.
