Hartley Hill Design When our clients moved into their already built home they decided to live in it for a while before making any changes. Once they were settled they decided to hire us as their interior designers to renovate and redesign various spaces of their home. As they selected the spaces to be renovated they expressed a strong need for storage and customization. They allowed us to design every detail as well as oversee the entire construction process directing our team of skilled craftsmen. The home is a traditional home so it was important for us to retain some of the traditional elements while incorporating our clients style preferences. Custom designed by Hartley and Hill Design. We took a 1980's kitchen and worked with the white dishwasher the sellers bought and played off of that gray, white and stainless steel theme. We used C2 Archival for the nook, which is south-facing. Looking for a nice clean crown molding, but what something different? These homeowners did just that with a simple clean flat molding applied to the wall and ceiling to create this look.

You should certainly look at magazines and social media for inspiration, but ultimately, your kitchen needs to work for you—it should be representative of how you and your family live and function. For example, a baker may require a double oven and a cabinet to hide a stand mixer. Other amenities you may want to include in your redesign include a pot filler, cooling rack, garbage disposal or a wine fridge, to name a few.

714 Page Street's kitchen has a new 3/4-inch maple floor that was installed in a herringbone pattern. Lighting by San Francisco-based Pablo Designs and Troy Lighting (all are controlled by Lutron LED dimmable switches), additional outlets by legrande. Motion-control kitchen faucet by Moen. Door hardware by Emtek. Spanish-made ceramic wall tile by cifre.
