This custom designed, multi-level deck in Madison, NJ has every element needed for one to never want to come indoors. The upper deck incorporates a large dining and lounge area with a stacked stone kitchen. To the left is an inviting sunken hot tub and to the right is a step down to the amazing blue stone inlay lower deck with a unique fire feature. When finished, it easily became the “favorite room” of the house.

We really felt that an outdoor space would significantly improve this rental property, so we decided to design and build a large deck that runs along the entire home. By allowing tenants to extend their home outdoors to lounge or barbecue, we find this really adds to the overall value. This curved deck was built with WOLF PVC in Amberwood with Rosewood border and curved layered profile fascia. The installation of the new sliding door from the kitchen allows for easy access. Custom powder coated aluminum curved rails accentuate the curve of the deck without obstructing the beautiful view of the back yard. The dual flared stairs add to the architectural interest of the project. The paver patio and built in stone fire feature capped in blue stone with a beautiful copper basin added another level for entertaining and relaxing. Black picture frame PVC lattice provides a stunning finished look. Client didn’t want any sharp corners where the children play. They wanted soft natural curves including the patio that captures the homeowner’s needs perfectly. This outdoor space provides enough space without overwhelming the yard.

Here is a picture of the old staircase. The two separate decks had been connected with two stairways leading to a mid-height landing. As you can see, the previous deck was all built with wood. The new deck was redesigned and replaced with Timbertec decking and vinyl railing.

This is a deck remodel we installed. Azek Mahogany decking. Hidden fasteners. Azek Evolutions Contemporary railing. Cedar posts and enclosed staircase. We had a blast with this project.

The client wanted a deck to be connected to the rest of the yard and transition to the upper deck 10ft of grade to the patio on grade. The centrally located circular kitchen area services both the patio and the upper deck and gives lots of options whether it’s just the family or a party for 50. Minimizing rails and stairs during the transition from the upper deck to the lower deck on grade was critical to the clients. Adding the kitchen to the project without obstructing the view out the rear patio doors was also an important request from the client. The WOLF PVC Black Walnut accents and fascia really sets off the Driftwood field. Dutch Quality weathered ledge stone was used in the kitchen with a granite counter. Custom welded aluminum rails and EP Henry Bristol pavers are also featured. The built in flower beds extend the feel of the patio area and allow for plantings to be added. This project turned an unusable back yard and disconnected elevated deck into cohesive multi-level living space.
