Our retractable solar screens are not just made to cover windows and sliding glass doors. These screens were installed to protect large area of a porch. The homeowners wanted to expand their living space, and so they did with retractable sun/solar screens.

The Design Issues here were pretty simple, to expand their outdoor living space, and take advantage of a nice Southerly view across San Diego. The Deck's Main Beam and Posts are rough sawn western red cedar, for appearance, while the Ledger Board on the house, and Floor Joists are pressure treated douglas fir. We use mostly stainless steel fasteners and connectors due to the corrosive nature of the new Pressure Treated material. The Decking is 1x6" ipe, screwed and plugged. The Cable Railing Posts are 2x4" Ipe and the railing's Top Cap is 5/4x6" Ipe. Stainless steel cable wire completes the railing. All of the Pergola components are also w.r cedar, and the shade material is bamboo

This cozy sanctuary has been transformed from a drab sun-blasted deck into an inspirational home-above-home get away! Our clients work and relax out here on the daily, and when entertaining is cool again, they plan to host friends in their beautiful new space. The old deck was removed, the roof was repaired and new paver flooring, railings, a pergola and gorgeous garden furnishings & features were installed to create a one of a kind urban escape.

Built-in seating maximizes deck space on a small deck while bench back serves as a guard rail. Herb bed adjacent to grill compliments the outdoor kitchen elements.
