This residence had been recently remodeled, with the exception of two of the bathrooms. Michael Merrill Design Studio enlarged the downstairs bathroom, which now has a spa-like atmosphere. It serves pool guests as well as house guests. Over-scaled tile floors and architectural glass tiled walls impart a dramatic modernity to the space. Note the polished stainless steel ledge in the shower niche. A German lacquered vanity and a Jack Lenor Larsen roman shade complete the space. Upstairs, the bathroom has a much more organic feel, using a shaved pebble floor, linen textured vinyl wall covering, and a watery green wall tile. Here the vanity is veneered in a rich walnut. This live edge black walnut table was handcrafted in Living Wood Design's Muskoka, Ontario studio, with custom made modern white steel base and shipped to Sag Harbor. This contemporary dining table perfectly complements the interior in this beautiful renovation.

Guesthouse - small eclectic detached guesthouse idea in Charlotte

Cape Associates, Inc. completed this backyard bliss by covering an attached pergola with a 12’ x 16’ retractable shade. Rope driven, the homeowners can extend the Sunbrella Taupe fabric without knocking fresh lobster rolls off the table.

The homeowners had an electronic retractable screen system installed around the deck enclosure for protection from pests and the elements. They self-installed deck stair lighting. Two useful and beautiful additions!

This space was completely empty, void of everything except the flooring tiles. All the containers and plantings, the patterned turf in the flooring, ornaments, and fixtures were part of the design. It spans three sides of the penthouse, extending the dining and living space out into the open. Outdoor rooms are created with the alignment of fixtures and placement of furniture. The custom designed water feature is both a wall to separate the dining and living spaces and a work of art on its own. A shade system offers relief from the scorching sun without permanently blocking the view from the dining room. A frosted glass wall on the edge of the kitchen brings privacy and still allows light to filter into the space. The south wall is lined with planters to add some privacy and at night are lit as a focal point.

Looking to cover an area not protected by foliage, Royal Decks continued their partnership with ShadeFX by installing a 14X14 retractable shade on these homeowner’s raised deck.
