This home gym was created with CrossFit workout in mind. The heavy-duty grade Rogue Fitness rack serves as the anchor to the space. The rubber dumbbells rest on the steel rack steps away from the adjustable decline and incline bench. The ½” thick rubber flooring makes for a sound base for serious workouts as well as sound absorption for the 800-Watt micro subwoofer as well as the 300 Watt combined ceiling speakers. We added a wall of mirrors on two walls which provide depth and the illusion of the room being enlarged. The Concept 2 rower can sit upright after heavy cardio use to make room for whatever workout is thrown at the gym.

For this application SAGIREV REF #11 Pine Zebrawood planks, in 6” width profile, were cut down to 2’ lengths and then backed with adhesive to flat lay-in mineral fiber ceiling tiles. The newly formed ceiling panels were then dropped into a t-bar suspension grid system to allow for access to the above electrical and mechanical. The t-bar grid was also painted to match the Pine Zebrawood finish and the finished product is stunning…

There was talk to paint or replace cabinetry as the client had a vision and the current stain seemed to be in the way of that. This home belonged to a West Michigan family who had relocated from Chicago. We had worked with this family before, completing a master bathroom remodel, a kitchen remodel, and a sunroom addition. Since then, their family had grown, and they needed more room to live, work, and host. They desired a lower level that had real living space, a dedicated office to support working from home, and a wine cellar for entertaining. On the main floor, the sunroom needed new windows and sliding glass doors, and the second floor lacked a suite for the out-of-town guests who often visited. Our team expanded the lower level to extend the living area beneath the existing deck, a phase that required excavation, foundation work, and framing to be completed entirely beneath the structure above. Inside, we converted a bedroom into a kitchenette, remodeled the lower bathroom, and then turned our attention to the wine cellar. An arched doorway leads into the space, where custom wine storage and sconce lighting were built. On the second floor, part of the laundry room and storage area was converted into a private guest bathroom. The finished home now gives this growing family the living space, functionality, and room to host that they'd outgrown.
