A single curve does a lot of work here. Rising from the main level to a wraparound balcony above, this staircase earns its place at the center of the home — not just structurally, but visually. Black iron balusters and handrails push against crisp white risers in a contrast that feels deliberate rather than decorative. The open floor plan gives it room to breathe, letting the curve read as architecture rather than furniture. The result is a staircase that creates movement even when no one is on it.

A145 features a specific program for a family whose main requirement was the versatility of the social space, having spaces wholly open and integrated and simultaneously being able to divide them for the comfort of each one of its members. The home is located in the Ayamonte Golf Club and its dividing line with the spring forest in Zapopan, with an East-West orientation, on a land of 1000m2. From an aesthetic point of view, the house was designed based on the spring forest’s primary setting. Special care was taken in the landscape design, integrating species of the region organically. Using natural materials in facades and interiors was a deliberate choice, with the intention that the construction, over the years, would become part of the natural setting and transform along with it. The residence is not just a home but a friend to the environment. It is equipped with solar panels for the house’s daily use and the pool’s heating, reducing its carbon footprint. Additionally, it has a water treatment plant, ensuring responsible water usage and management. The interior design style vividly reflects the residents’ personalities. Most of the pieces made in Mexico were designed and manufactured in a contemporary style.

2nd Place- Vision Workroom Competition
Living Room
Award Winning Window Treatments
On the first telephone conversation, my client explained that he has an appreciation for antique furniture, which led him to purchase two Victorian sheeted brass cornices. He had a vision to incorporate them into living room window treatments, together with greenish tone fabrics like his classical antique furniture.
We designed pelmets with bells and later added Roman shades for privacy. In order to give the visual illusion of a one layered top treatment, all three window treatments were precisely engineered and mounted on one mounting board. Since the client did not want to cover too much of the window, top treatments had to be at a certain length. The embroidered fabric was deliberately cut out of three different pieces and separated by bells. At the very end, four little tassels were added to compliment tassels in the brass cornice. At the end of this project the client asked, if I can make a similar window treatment for a small window in the joining room. Using leftover fabric pieces, I made a small pelmet, which resembled the living room pelmets.

This contemporary bath is accentuated with cool tones of natural materials and unified by repetition of simple geometry. The recurrence of clean lines deliberately elongates the bathroom, which leads the eye through the space with ease. Updated LED lights and fixtures brighten the room and fill the space with a light and airy ambiance. Among the cool tones, a modernized vanity cabinet not only provides privacy behind the partition wall but also demands attention by breaking up the cool tones with a splash of warm pommele sapele wood texture. Within the shower, the grid of interesting lines is once again intentionally interrupted by a dynamic asymmetrical curved step sweeping along the shower wall.

Lighting or illumination is the deliberate use of light to achieve a practical or aesthetic effect. Lighting includes the use of both artificial light sources like lamps and light fixtures, as well as natural illumination by capturing daylight. Day-lighting (using windows, skylights, or light shelves) is sometimes used as the main source of light during daytime in buildings. Proper lighting can enhance task performance, improve the appearance of an area, or have positive psychological effects on occupants.
Indoor lighting is usually accomplished using light fixtures, and is a key part of interior design. Lighting can also be an intrinsic component of landscape projects.
