Location: New York, NY, United States This Loft was tastefully renovated back in the '90s, but was due for an update and an expansion of the kitchen and dining areas to accommodate the client's cooking skills and entertaining needs. EnlargIing the island and adding cabinetry to delineate the office, bar and dining areas was a priority. The bathroom was updated to feel like a tranquil spa with beautiful new tile, plumbing fixtures and cabinets. With this international project, Equine Facility Design was brought on to address site master planning and design the project development for a private equestrian training facility, focused on showjumping. The program entails a 30 stall stable, groom housing, equipment storage, hay and bedding storage facilities. The design included a 50 x 30 meter indoor arena with a viewing room, a 70 x 50 meter outdoor arena, with indoor viewing room, an outdoor multipurpose sport court arena with viewing terrace. Additional infrastructure provided for manure storage facilities, a horse exerciser, a 25 x 3 meter equine therapy/ swimming pool, and site amenities of parking and access drives, pastures, and paddocks.

The wire-brushed oak doors to the compound were hung on riveted strap hinges. The doors, hardware and lock were custom fabricated by the owner, Master Craftsman of Ornamental Ironwork Patrice Humbert. Patrice also fabricated the steel louvered panels in the breezeway connecting the main house to the guest house. Custom sconces designed by Anik Pearson were also fabricated by Patrice.

Custom Surface Solutions (www.css-tile.com) - Owner Craig Thompson (512) 430-1215. This project shows a new construction master bathroom with two showers, and wall mounted vanities. Shower wall tile and vanity wall wainscots and floor base tile is 6" x 18" Carrera Marble on offset subway pattern. Shower floors are 5/8" Carrera Marble mosaic tile. All exposed edges including windows, shower walls, top wainscots and floor base are custom bull-nose profiled. Shower floor is custom mud set with SchluterSystems waterproofing and drain system.
