Compact yet charming, this home includes all the details of a much larger home. The European exterior features a stone entrance and copper roofing over the bedroom/study window.
The interior consists of tray ceilings in almost every common room, granting a luxurious feel to each. The breakfast room is hugged by a bow window, as is the master bedroom. For entertaining, the breakfast room, great room, kitchen and dining room are all just a step away from one another. The generous utility room is sure to please any homeowner and is just off the garage.
Ideal for outdoor entertaining, the sprawling porch and patio are an added bonus, and the fireplace on the porch is a great way to keep warm during cooler months.
Perfectly positioned, the bedrooms ensure privacy from one another. Two secondary bedrooms share a bath and the elegant master suite is located in the rear of the home.

• Front Entryway of House 6 concrete and wood home.
House 6, is Cheng Design’s sixth custom home project, was redesigned and constructed from top-to-bottom. The project represents a major career milestone thanks to the unique and innovative use of concrete, as this residence is one of Cheng Design’s first-ever ‘hybrid’ structures, constructed as a combination of wood and concrete.

Inspiration for a coastal l-shaped medium tone wood floor kitchen remodel in Los Angeles with a farmhouse sink, shaker cabinets, white backsplash, subway tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island and black cabinets

A young family moving from NYC tackled a lightning fast makeover of their new colonial revival home before the arrival of their second child. The kitchen area was quite spacious but needed a facelift and new layout. Painted cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter is balanced by grey glazed rift oak cabinetry on the island. Shiplap paneling on the island and cabinet lend a slightly contemporary edge. White bronze hardware by Schaub & Co. in a contemporary bar shape offer clean lines with some texture in a warm metallic tone.
White Marble countertops in “Alpine Mist” create a harmonious color palette while the pale blue/grey Waterworks backsplash adds a touch of color. We were asked to add a small sunroom off a beautiful 1960's living room. Our approach was to continue the lines of the living room out into the landscape. Opening up and glazing the walls on either side of the fireplace gave more presence to the Dale Chihuly piece mounted above while visually connecting to the garden and the new addition.

Inspired by DesignARC's Greenworth House, the owners of this 1960's single-story ranch house desired a fresh take on their out-dated, well-worn Montecito residence. Hailing from Toronto Canada, the couple is at ease in urban, loft-like spaces and looked to create a pared-down dwelling that could become their home.
