When ALE Solutions asked us to help create a feeling of home and family for their corporate headquarters, we jumped at the chance! As the largest nationwide provider of temporary housing for people displaced by fire, tornado, earthquake, and hurricanes, ALE sought to create a more residential, “at home” feel for their new office space. We tailored each area to provide the comfort, functionality, and style in this highly productive workplace.

This Kitchen was orginally built with a inset downdraft cook top. The owner deciced that she wanted to upgrade the cooktop to a Wolf Range resulting in a modification of cabinetry and countertop. Additionally with the range installation the Meile double oven was displaced and custom cabintry built in to match the existing cabinetry was made.

The fishing pond at this project’s home ranch is down a steep slope, some distance from the main compound. To providing shelter from fast-moving storms, a lunch spot, or just a great place for a nap, the owners asked us to design a small fishing cabin. To ensure it blended in to its environment as much as possible, we chose indigenous materials—such as boulders displaced by mining and local reclaimed timbers—to help solidify the connection between the structure and the site. A sod roof seeded with native grasses and resident wildflowers further connects this structure to its surroundings.
Now the fishing cabin is the favorite place for teaching the grandkids how to fish, or for a summer afternoon swim, or simply for reading a good book in front of the crackling fireplace.

The Sliding glass doors of the great room open completely to a railed patio with columns made from trees displaced by the house. Well placed living herbs make the prep area a nice place to chop and chat with friends sitting at the island.

This kitchen features a huge amount of storage. On both sides of the cooktop, you can see there are drawer bases, where you could store anything from large pots and pans to dishes. there is a dry bar area at the end of the kitchen, where there is displace space as well as storage below. These louvered doors make a beautiful statement, while giving more opportunity for storage.
