Clean, crisp design. Pure white interior.
Corner lot. Lots of light (inherent privacy issues) The house was designed with a private interior courtyard to provide an intimate retreat and give the owners options for private living space.
Space was maximized on stair landing to give the house a roomy, spacious feel.
Great vaults in every room due to being hand framed with Lots of high windows.
Board and batten.

The owners acquired an adjacent property and called on our firm and a team of consultants to join the properties into one seamless private park like setting complete with a Pool Pavilion and Pool.
A study of light and space, The Pavilion offers different experiences at different times of the day. The optimum display of light and transparency occurs at dusk. At that hour, one can catch the reflections in the pool and the glowing of this small jewel within in the landscape.
Amenities include an air conditioned lounging area with TV and kitchen/bar, a laundry and changing room, a private bathroom with shower, an additional outdoor shower and a full basement for storage of pool toys and equipment.
The contemporary approach combines rich woods, stainless steel, and concrete with marble, glass tile and natural stones. Cedar shingles, a nod to the main house, recede into the landscape while the soaring glass windows and doors flood the space with light and views back into the landscape. The building also features a bead board ceiling and exposed structure. This blend of materials yields a sophisticated modern design that is calm and cheerful while providing conditioned entertaining space for the Owner’s family and friends.
The client gushes “I feel like I am transported-- on vacation-- every time I open the doors and enter the space.”

By integrating industrial elements alongside family hand-me-downs (the dresser was passed down from Chelsea's mother), the room receives a summer camp feel. A chalk board for messages is sure to make any guest feel a personalized welcome.

Creating this open airy master retreat involved removing a space consuming corner W.C. and an awkwardly deep linen closet. Using tall glass panels to separate the shower and toilet gives privacy while maintaining the newly acquired spaciousness. The glass panels transition from frosted around the toilet to clear around the roomy barrier free shower. By reducing the original closet opening, we gained necessary wall space for a modern freestanding tub. Tall cabinets provide plenty of storage space for linens and toiletries. A pair of pull-out cabinets – one on each side of the sink – conceal convenient grooming stations. An extra wide sink can easily accommodate two and still leaves plenty of counterspace on either side. The large mirror is mounted to a shallow framework concealing recessed lighting and softly illuminating the wall behind. The faucets and hand-held shower feature a knurled detail lending a bit of biker industrial to the modern surroundings. Access to the walk-in-closet is through a clean open doorway, while a wide modern style barn door slides open on the master bedroom side.

Designed using the ancient Chinese organizational principles of feng shui, this free-standing kitchen combines Zen-like calm with the convenience and performance of a professional kitchen.
The concrete walls are painted in a color that’s light and soothing, while floors are bare and clean, save for cushioned mats placed in front of busy workspaces. The windows were acquired from a vacated building and adapted for residential use.
In this large kitchen, designers concentrated a rangetop and two wall ovens into one cooking center. A warming shelf for plates is situated below the restaurant-style ventilation hood and above the rangetop for an added touch of convenience that enhances the cook’s serenity.
The Asian minimalist aesthetic and commercial cooking equipment are given a warm feeling with the use of natural materials such as African zebrawood and live plants.
This is a kitchen that truly reflects the spirit of yin and yang, in which harmony is achieved through opposing yet complementary forces.
