With a budget of $3,000 and a two-month timeline, we set out to breathe new life into a dining area that felt more cramped than cozy. The transformation was not just about style; it was about creating a space that feels like home, a place where every piece tells a part of our client’s story.
Table Upgrade: The original table was a quaint four-seater, perfect for the snug corners of a smaller apartment but it lost its charm in a larger space. We introduced a grand white marble table that not only made the room look more open but also blended seamlessly with the wood, stone, and rattan elements already present. This new table isn't just furniture; it's a gathering place, a spot that invites everyone to come together, share meals, and create memories.
Ambient Lighting: The standard, fixed lighting in the apartment was too harsh and did little to enhance the inviting atmosphere we wanted to cultivate. Our solution was to install chic, renter-friendly wall sconces and scatter battery-powered candles across the table. Now, the lighting is just right—soft, warm, and perfect for setting the mood, whether it’s a lively dinner party or a quiet evening meal.
Personalizing the Space: Beyond the aesthetics, it was important to our client that the space feel personal and heartfelt. We set up a gallery of family photos right across from the dining area. These aren’t just pictures; they’re windows into precious moments. We used innovative, rental-friendly magnetic frames that don't require nails, allowing our client the freedom to refresh the display as new memories are made.
This dining area makeover was all about creating a space that not only looks beautiful but feels genuinely like a part of the family—a place where every element has its purpose and every detail adds to the story. We’ve transformed an ordinary space into our client’s favorite room in the house, where style meets personal history and creates the perfect backdrop for many more cherished moments.

The geometric lines of the home and formal gardens are repeated rhythmically throughout the landscape. Bluestone steps, supported by fieldstone slabs, mirror the angles and proportions of the home's architecture, and create a continuous line with a fieldstone wall and hedge made of boxwood shrubs.
In this setting, (bluestone/)natural stone steps and a natural rock wall allow the garden design to maximize the existing contours of the landscape. Leading from the home and outdoor dining room to the pool and entertaining areas, these broad, low exterior bluestone/stone steps are easily navigated and don't require a railing.
The effect is a bluestone stairway that feels modern and elegant, and reflects the formal garden style seen throughout the landscape. Photo by Linda Oyama Bryan

Triplex Doors are important part of the interior. And it is crucial to be attentive while choosing one. Each of us is guided by our own tastes and preferences while selecting a door for the rooms of our apartment (or for our home). You can choose simple wooden door or door with a glass. And if you have decided to buy door with a glass, the best choice is triplex door. Triplex glass is a several layer glass, which is made with the help ofpressing while heating. There are different variations of triplex, for example, there are types of glass, which are soundproof or have electric heating, etc. Triplex is produced with a special technique: in between two glass a specific membrane is placed, after which they are being glued at a certain pressure and temperature. Triplex doors are famous for their strength and long lasting operational term. The protective function of these doors is that they absorb ultraviolet lights, but at the same time let in a normal daylight. They don't require an extraordinary care. All these characteristics make doors with triplex convenient for usage. Doors with triplex glass can be applied in various ways. With the help of diverse designs and saturated colors, they will be perfect for bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom. It is possible to choose not only transparent but also frosted glass. The feature of these doors is that they expand the space and also scatter the light. White kitchens are classic. They're bright, clean, and don't require a lot of stressful color decisions when decorating (because literally, everything is white). But white doesn't have to equal boring.

Our client had purchased a townhome in Manhattan Beach, CA. which really only needed a few updates to become her home. She was looking for a modern master bathroom with a curbless shower complete with pebble stone floor and a channel drain. The shower is silver beige limestone with a mosaic tile niche. One of the unique elements to this design is the window over the floating vanity. The vessel sinks don’t require much backsplash; the mosaic behind them ties in the same pattern in the shower niche. Also in line with the modern style of the room are the floating shelves over the commode. The room has a mix of pendant lights and recessed lighting. The bathroom is completed with an Espresso pocket door with white laminated glass. A coordinating bi fold door was used on her walk-in closet. Both doors now coordinate with the entry to her master bedroom. We also added the niche cabinetry and shelving in the master bedroom for additional storage.

Smartly designed to allow for a view and maintain privacy, this primary bedroom window open the back of the house to the gorgeous mountain views, while its bedroom companions are small and provide natural light but don't require a lot of window treatments to give privacy.

All tilework, installed by Decker Design, was grouted with a no maintenance, no sealant product, which don’t require chemical cleaners to maintain.
