Designed by Maggie Walker of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Frederick, MD this traditional style kitchen design features kitchen cabinets from Merillat Masterpiece in the Fairlane Evercore door style in 2 finishes. The perimeter kitchen cabinets feature a Dove White finish. The kitchen island cabinets feature the darker Onyx finish. Kitchen countertops are Cambria engineered quartz in the color Bellingham. According to the client, Maggie "translated our wants and needs into a beautiful yet functional space. Her suggestion to move an exterior window brightened and opened up the room as well." The clients particularly enjoy the deep drawers that are designed to hold dishes, pots and pans as well as the pull out bins in the lower cabinets, saying "..not only does it make meal prep and clean up easy now, we also know these features will be appreciated even more as we age."

Siene & Kentay’s tired kitchen needed some attention. The large and heavy stone covered hood vent paired with the dark stained cabinets sucked the life and light out of the room.
One thing that struggled was lighting. Even with the walls of windows the dark features just absorbed the light.
We started by using a soft white shaker cabinet called Dove White as the main cabinet color in the kitchen. We removed the stone from the hood and the dark slate from the backsplash.
We also removed the dated shape of the peninsula by squaring it off. By doing this, the new walking area improved and allows for transitioning between rooms.
The oddly shaped island in the center struggled to give them the storage they needed. They were large cabinets, but items usually got stuck or lost.
After determining that Siene wanted to prepare food here, we opted to do deep drawer cabinets to store a lot of her prep items at arm’s reach.
The Island and bar cabinets are in a natural stain called Fawn. This color complimented the existing slate flooring. We also lined the hood in trim that matches the island.
The island is also waterfalled on both sides with quartz from Arizona Tile called Ivory White Honed.
Just off the kitchen there was a bar, however it was hidden from all rooms. We decided that we would move the bar to a more prominent place in the home, and the existing would be turned into an appliance pantry.
A place for the coffee maker, microwave, and other smaller appliance storage.
We finished the kitchen with a simple backsplash in a lantern white mosaic with a natural tan grout. The door hardware, faucet from Delta and the new pendant lighting are all in the stainless family allowing for depth and consistency.
The new bar features a Sub-Zero wine column with refrigerated storage below. The upper lit glass cabinets offer a chance to showcase stemware and spirits.
This custom cabinet install allows the wood to shine and offers storage.
Lastly, the additional lighting installed in all areas now is controllable. Siene and Kentay have full control and can direct the light and how much is used.
When they want a night in, they can turn down the lights and relax. In their new updated family room in front of a newly integrated modern fireplace.

Despite its diamond-mullioned exterior, this stately home’s interior takes a more light-hearted approach to design. The Dove White inset cabinetry is classic, with recessed panel doors, a deep bevel inside profile and a matching hood. Streamlined brass cup pulls and knobs are timeless. Departing from the ubiquitous crown molding is a square top trim.
The layout supplies plenty of function: a paneled refrigerator; prep sink on the island; built-in microwave and second oven; built-in coffee maker; and a paneled wine refrigerator. Contrast is provided by the countertops and backsplash: honed black Jet Mist granite on the perimeter and a statement-making island top of exuberantly-patterned Arabescato Corchia Italian marble.
Flooring pays homage to terrazzo floors popular in the 70’s: “Geotzzo” tiles of inlaid gray and Bianco Dolomite marble. Field tiles in the breakfast area and cooking zone perimeter are a mix of small chips; feature tiles under the island have modern rectangular Bianco Dolomite shapes. Enameled metal pendants and maple stools and dining chairs add a mid-century Scandinavian touch. The turquoise on the table base is a delightful surprise.
An adjacent pantry has tall storage, cozy window seats, a playful petal table, colorful upholstered ottomans and a whimsical “balloon animal” stool.

In the kitchen, glassy black granite countertops and tile backsplash contrast sharply with white custom cabinetry, while sleek brushed metal hardware coordinates with stainless appliances. An icy Delicatus granite slab tops a large dark-stained custom island. The black cut glass pendant lights above glow a deep purple when illuminated.

Louisiana artist Joseph “Jojo” Jilbert was commissioned to create a custom sculpture for the living room. Towering at more than eight feet, “Nebulas 1” is forged from fire in his signature style using reclaimed metal objects. The welded creation is modeled after the famed Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula, where light and heat from young stars create columns that are trillions of miles long. The sculpture is burnished to a deep patina and engraved with intricate scrollwork.

This couple moved to Plano to be closer to their kids and grandchildren. When they purchased the home, they knew that the kitchen would have to be improved as they love to cook and gather as a family. The storage and prep space was not working for them and the old stove had to go! They loved the gas range that they had in their previous home and wanted to have that range again. We began this remodel by removing a wall in the butlers pantry to create a more open space. We tore out the old cabinets and soffit and replaced them with cherry Kraftmaid cabinets all the way to the ceiling. The cabinets were designed to house tons of deep drawers for ease of access and storage. We combined the once separated laundry and utility office space into one large laundry area with storage galore. Their new kitchen and laundry space is now super functional and blends with the adjacent family room.

This space was refreshed with a coat of paint, new pillows and accessories - just to make it feel inviting and new, even thought it didn't undergo a major renovation like the rest of the house.

This unique kitchen designed for entertaining is certainly big on functionality and personality. Channeling the bright colors of nature and showcasing the diversity of the cabinet industry’s best finish, the kitchen’s design pops with a two-color combination of Deep Ice and Nordic White on Westchester Recessed doors. The homeowners chose Wood-Mode for their Arts & Crafts kitchen because of the company’s sustainable approach and commitment with its craftsmanship and operational practices. Innovative bi-folding cabinet doors on upper cabinets seated on the countertop hideaway appliances for a clean look, and create special areas such as a coffee bar, dry goods bar and beverage bar.
With 11-feet of versatile space, the massive island is designed in Matte French Biscuit on Plain Sawn White Oak and pulls double-duty with eat-in seating for five with appliances on the other. The craftsmanship carries throughout the kitchen, and spills down into the smallest of details, like the metal accent adjustable shelves and wood shelves with glass inserts.

The homeowners came to us wanting to create flow throughout their main living space. They achieved this by having luxury vinyl plank flooring installed throughout their foyer, kitchen, hallway, laundry room, first floor bathroom, and office space. They opened their kitchen up by removing their oddly shaped island into a peninsula with seating up to 3 people. Lighter colored cabinets were used to make the space feel big and open, while creating warmth through the darker backsplash and earthy green painted walls. Off the kitchen, we turned the not often used desk/landing zone area into 2 side by side tall pantry units with lots of rollout shelves and storage.
Lastly, before the renovation there were 2 arched openings into the kitchen. We closed one off, which made the dining room not only be a true dining room, but it also allowed for this wall in the kitchen to become the “appliance wall”. The homeowners now have lots of space to prep, cook and entertain while still having access to their coffee station, fridge, microwave and double oven.
