Updating a recently built town home in culver city for a wonderful family was a very enjoyable project for us. The townhouse bathroom had a basic look and was lacking in both storage and looks. the main part of this project was the custom design and building of the vanity unit and the extra storage with bi-fold doors so not to take up too much space. the floors were done with porcelain tile that mimics the rich look of Calcutta marble. the large format tile gives a sensation of space and minimalize the amount of grout lines on the floor. The shower unit received a much-needed high end plumbing fixture and the shower head was raised to a normal height. the walls were tiled with the same floor tile in a staggered pattern. the bench wall is the center focal point and is boasting a chiseled texture dark gray tile that is been complimented by the slate shower pan tile work. notice the bench top and the step into the shower, it is done with a single piece of quartz stone for a clean and grout-less look.

This vast open master bath is about 300 sq. in size. This color combination of Black, gold and light marble is a traditional color scheme that received a modern interpretation by us. The cabinets are original to the house and were refinished and re-glazed, a new absolute black granite counter top was placed and new vessel sinks and waterfall faucets were installed. the golden pendents lights matching the gold scheme of the bathroom. the black mosaic tile are used for the step to the tub, shower pan and the vertical and shampoo niche accent tiles have a combo of black glass and stone tile with a high gloss almost metallic finish. it boasts a large shower with frame-less glass and a great spa area with a drop-in Jacuzzi tub. the large windows bring a vast amount of natural light that allowed us to really take advantage of the black colors tile and tub. The floor tile (ceramic 24"x24 mimicking marble) are placed in a diamond pattern with black accents (4"x4" granite). and the matching staggered placed tile (18"x12") on the walls. Creation of a new master bathroom, kids’ bathroom, toilet room and a WIC from a mid. size bathroom was a challenge but the results were amazing. The new kids’ bathroom was given a good size to work with. 5.5’ by 9’. Allowing us to have a good size shower with a bench, 3’ vanity and comfortable space for the toilet to be placed. The bathroom floor is made of white Thasos marble for a neutral look since the wall tiles were so unique in color and design. The main walls of the bathroom are made from blue subway tiles with diagonal lines pattern while the main wall is made of large 24”x6” tile with diamond/triangle shapes in different warm and cool colors. Notice the unique shampoo niche in the bench area, it continues into the pony wall as well without any interruptions thus creating a long L-shaped space for all the bath items to remain hidden.

A European modern interpretation to a standard 8'x5' bathroom with a touch of mid-century color scheme for warmth. large format porcelain tile (72x30) was used both for the walls and for the floor. A 3D tile was used for the center wall for accent / focal point. Wall mounted toilet were used to save space.

In a wonderful Tudor 30’s home there was a tiny kitchen, a tiny laundry and a tiny breakfast nook enclosed by walls. We removed all the walls and reframed the load bearing beams to convert these tiny little spaces into one large kitchen with many windows for a bright feeling, another wall was removed to connect the kitchen space to the dining and living room creating a great semi-open space. Classical shaker cabinets with a pewter accent island combined with the warmth of the bamboo flooring and the wooded floating shelves made this kitchen feel like it was always there. Modern gold pulls, plumbing fixtures and pendant light combined with the Viking range give this kitchen a high end feeling.

Modern facelift to a mid-century 70's built house in Woodland Hills. A 26' opening was framed between the old enclosed kitchen and the living room making the kitchen part of an open space plan. Monochromatic color scheme was selected with touches of warmth hidden in the white washed wide planked European oak flooring. the cabinets are solid wood gray color finish with a minimalist insert deco design, the counter top is London gray quartz material and it continues as a waterfall design finish on both sides of the island making it look like a perfect cube on both sides. The backsplash is made out of granite hexagon tiles with variable textured and polished finish. Notice the fun cabinet pulls, the design of having the non-symmetrical opening in different directions gives the kitchen a playful touch.

ADU (Accessory dwelling unit) became a major part of the family of project we have been building in the past 3 years since it became legal in Los Angeles. This is a typical conversion of a small style of a garage. (324sq only) into a fantastic guest unit / rental. A large kitchen and a roomy bathroom are a must to attract potential rentals. in this design you can see a relatively large L shape kitchen is possible due to the use a more compact appliances (24" fridge and 24" range) to give the space even more function a 24" undercounter washer/dryer was installed. Since the space itself is not large framing vaulted ceilings was a must, the high head room gives the sensation of space even in the smallest spaces. Notice the exposed beam finished in varnish and clear coat for the decorative craftsman touch. The bathroom flooring tile is continuing in the shower are as well so not to divide the space into two areas, the toilet is a wall mounted unit with a hidden flush tank thus freeing up much needed space.

Originally hosting only 1 huge bathroom this design was not sufficient for our clients which had difference of opinion of how they wish their personal bathroom should look like. Dividing the space into two bathrooms gave each one of our clients the ability to receive a fully personalized design. Husband's bathroom is a modern farmhouse design with a wall mounted sink, long narrow subway tile on the walls and wood looking tile for the floors. a large recessed medicine cabinet with built-in light fixtures was installed with a large recessed niche under it for placing all the items that usually are placed on the counter. The wall mounted toilet gives a nice clean look and a modern touch.

Mudroom - mid-sized mid-century modern porcelain tile and gray floor mudroom idea in Edmonton with white walls

Master suite addition to an existing 20's Spanish home in the heart of Sherman Oaks, approx. 300+ sq. added to this 1300sq. home to provide the needed master bedroom suite. the large 14' by 14' bedroom has a 1 lite French door to the back yard and a large window allowing much needed natural light, the new hardwood floors were matched to the existing wood flooring of the house, a Spanish style arch was done at the entrance to the master bedroom to conform with the rest of the architectural style of the home. The master bathroom on the other hand was designed with a Scandinavian style mixed with Modern wall mounted toilet to preserve space and to allow a clean look, an amazing gloss finish freestanding vanity unit boasting wall mounted faucets and a whole wall tiled with 2x10 subway tile in a herringbone pattern. For the floor tile we used 8x8 hand painted cement tile laid in a pattern pre determined prior to installation. The wall mounted toilet has a huge open niche above it with a marble shelf to be used for decoration. The huge shower boasts 2x10 herringbone pattern subway tile, a side to side niche with a marble shelf, the same marble material was also used for the shower step to give a clean look and act as a trim between the 8x8 cement tiles and the bark hex tile in the shower pan. Notice the hidden drain in the center with tile inserts and the great modern plumbing fixtures in an old work antique bronze finish. A walk-in closet was constructed as well to allow the much needed storage space.

The master bathroom remodel was done in continuation of the color scheme that was done throughout the house. Large format tile was used for the floor to eliminate as many grout lines and to showcase the large open space that is present in the bathroom. All 3 walls were tiles with large format tile as well with 3 decorative lines running in parallel with 1 tile spacing between them. The deck of the tub that also acts as the bench in the shower was covered with the same quartz stone material that was used for the vanity countertop, notice for its running continuously from the vanity to the waterfall to the tub deck and its step. Another great use for the countertop was the ledge of the shampoo niche.
