Tower Lighting's custom Decade Lantern does double duty in this kitchen update. The large scale is simple and dramatic for the 10-foot ceilings. www.TowerLighting.com

Elegant new entry finished with traditional black and white marble flooring with a basket weave border and trim that matches the home’s era.
The original foyer was dark and had an obtrusive cabinet to hide unsightly meters and pipes. Our in-house plumber reconfigured the plumbing to allow us to build a shallower full-height closet to hide the meters and electric panels, but we still gained space to install storage shelves. We also shifted part of the wall into the adjacent suite to gain square footage to create a more dramatic foyer.

The Accademia, Made in Italy, is a beautiful, hand-blown Murano glass fixture that is simple, yet dramatic. The 18-inch diameter is large, but not too large, and gives the ceiling a spray of light that never goes unnoticed.

Big, bold statements are even bigger and bolder in small spaces. We're enamored of the crisp lines of this deco shade on our Jefferson 6in contrasted with this collection of vintage and antique mirrors.

Living room - 1950s walk-out light wood floor living room idea in Los Angeles with white walls

The kitchen in this beautiful 1934 home had been renovated, but lacked flow and adequate storage and for the family of five. The Viking range was trapped in an alcove, with little counter space on the sides. By relocating the wall oven, the range wall is a functional area featuring two niches, an accessory rail and dramatic tile. The new grey-stained Crystal cabinets in hickory and cherry complement the existing Colorado stone floors. Careful selection of materials and placement blends existing and new, while respecting the vintage of the home.

Above and Beyond is the third residence in a four-home collection in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Originally the site of the abandoned Kachina Elementary School, the infill community, appropriately named Kachina Estates, embraces the remarkable views of Camelback Mountain.
Nestled into an acre sized pie shaped cul-de-sac lot, the lot geometry and front facing view orientation created a remarkable privacy challenge and influenced the forward facing facade and massing. An iconic, stone-clad massing wall element rests within an oversized south-facing fenestration, creating separation and privacy while affording views “above and beyond.”
Above and Beyond has Mid-Century DNA married with a larger sense of mass and scale. The pool pavilion bridges from the main residence to a guest casita which visually completes the need for protection and privacy from street and solar exposure.
The pie-shaped lot which tapered to the south created a challenge to harvest south light. This was one of the largest spatial organization influencers for the design. The design undulates to embrace south sun and organically creates remarkable outdoor living spaces.
This modernist home has a palate of granite and limestone wall cladding, plaster, and a painted metal fascia. The wall cladding seamlessly enters and exits the architecture affording interior and exterior continuity.
Kachina Estates was named an Award of Merit winner at the 2019 Gold Nugget Awards in the category of Best Residential Detached Collection of the Year. The annual awards ceremony was held at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference in San Francisco, CA in May 2019.

This home and this family was one of my favorites to work and create with. We are designing the second floor in their home as we speak (they needed to take a break to have a baby!) But this six bedroom home in Heron Bay Estates is a beautiful masterpiece. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It was just published in Florida Design magazine and was photographed by Jessica Glynn.

The original plywood doors were "OK" but I wanted something with "stopping power". I was inspired by the university's policy of including art in building projects - so I used that as the driving force for my creative effort. They had to be potently artful but not garnish. I also wanted them to be dynamic rather than static - this glass (irridized fibroid on black cathdral) fit the bill. I looked at many different kinds of glass - the glass also needed to have individuality in each sheet but speak the same language. Kind=f of like looking at a family of individual brothers and sisters and yet you could tell they were from the same family.
Depending on the angle of viewing, and the light source, the doors look dramatically different - I particularity like walking past them and seeing them change as I walk past.
Functionally the pantries are only about 6" deep on the left side and 10" deep on the right. The pantries are organized in categories roughly. The first set of 10" deep cabinets also open to the kitchen - they hold all the baking supplies. The arch is part of an axis from the front to the back of the house.

Naturally simple, the TK Pad is settled organically into a reddish-brown butte 10 miles south of Jackson. From its unadorned and earthy materials—most notably the post-tensioned rammed earth walls, patented by the architect and used here for the first time—to its butte-side orientation, the residence is in harmony with its environment for a successful design that won the architects an Award of Excellence in the “Built” category from the Wyoming chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

This project was a gut renovation of a loft on Park Ave. South in Manhattan – it’s the personal residence of Andrew Petronio, partner at KA Design Group. Bilotta Senior Designer, Jeff Eakley, has worked with KA Design for 20 years. When it was time for Andrew to do his own kitchen, working with Jeff was a natural choice to bring it to life. Andrew wanted a modern, industrial, European-inspired aesthetic throughout his NYC loft. The allotted kitchen space wasn’t very big; it had to be designed in such a way that it was compact, yet functional, to allow for both plenty of storage and dining. Having an island look out over the living room would be too heavy in the space; instead they opted for a bar height table and added a second tier of cabinets for extra storage above the walls, accessible from the black-lacquer rolling library ladder. The dark finishes were selected to separate the kitchen from the rest of the vibrant, art-filled living area – a mix of dark textured wood and a contrasting smooth metal, all custom-made in Bilotta Collection Cabinetry. The base cabinets and refrigerator section are a horizontal-grained rift cut white oak with an Ebony stain and a wire-brushed finish. The wall cabinets are the focal point – stainless steel with a dark patina that brings out black and gold hues, picked up again in the blackened, brushed gold decorative hardware from H. Theophile. The countertops by Eastern Stone are a smooth Black Absolute; the backsplash is a black textured limestone from Artistic Tile that mimics the finish of the base cabinets. The far corner is all mirrored, elongating the room. They opted for the all black Bertazzoni range and wood appliance panels for a clean, uninterrupted run of cabinets.

These 5.5mm porcelain tiles have been Robinson tested at the Tile Council of America labs, receiving an “extra heavy” duty service rating. They are ideal for commercial floor, wall and exterior applications as well as all residential floor, wall, countertop, stairs, and the list goes on.Aesthetically, RestoreHDP utilizes the most technically advanced glazing system in the industry today, digital printing. Like the technology that changed the television industry, HDP-High Definition Porcelain® brings you the most realistic image possible, except it is on a tile. RestoreHDP takes on the look of antique barn planks, one of the most rustic and dramatic reclaimed looking porcelain tile floors available. This rustic wide plank porcelain tile flooring is duplicated from 150-200 year old rustic barn woods. The Restore HDP planks are worn with character from farmers of generations ago. This incredible realistic looking tile has the worn wood flooring feel with dents and dings and evidence of hard work from days gone by. Yet, the ease of maintenance that only innovative high quality porcelain tile can provide.
