The owners of this home came to us with a plan to build a new high-performance home that physically and aesthetically fit on an infill lot in an old well-established neighborhood in Bellingham. The Craftsman exterior detailing, Scandinavian exterior color palette, and timber details help it blend into the older neighborhood. At the same time the clean modern interior allowed their artistic details and displayed artwork take center stage. We started working with the owners and the design team in the later stages of design, sharing our expertise with high-performance building strategies, custom timber details, and construction cost planning. Our team then seamlessly rolled into the construction phase of the project, working with the owners and Michelle, the interior designer until the home was complete. The owners can hardly believe the way it all came together to create a bright, comfortable, and friendly space that highlights their applied details and favorite pieces of art. This master bath was an explosion of travertine and beige. The clients wanted an updated space without the expense of a full remodel. We layered a textured faux grasscloth and painted the trim to soften the tones of the tile. The existing cabinets were painted a bold blue and new hardware dressed them up. The crystal chandelier and mirrored sconces add sparkle to the space. New larger mirrors bring light into the space and a soft linen roman shade with embellished tassel fringe frames the bathtub area. Our favorite part of the space is the well traveled Turkish rug to add some warmth and pattern to the space.

Our homeowner approached us first in order to remodel her master suite. Her shower was leaking and she wanted to turn 2 separate closets into one enviable walk in closet. This homeowners projects have been completed in multiple phases. The second phase was focused on the kitchen, laundry room and converting the dining room to an office. Dining Room turned Office: There is a white washed oak barn door separating the new office from the living room. The blue accent wall is the perfect backdrop for the mirror. This room features both recessed lighting and a stunning pendant chandelier. It also has both a pocket door and barn door. The view to the backyard was a part of this remodel and makes it a lovely office for the homeowner.

Using painters drop cloth for these laundry bags makes them sturdy but also very easy to clean by dropping in the laundry. The room can be free of baskets of dirty laundry by utilizing the empty wall space in this narrow room.

Plum Doodles: Curtains made from drop cloth fabric; vintage wood and plaster decorative door painted and repurposed for over-the-bed art; trey ceiling painted blue. Replaced carpet with prefinished hardwood. Stenciled back of rug for a new look.

Powder room - mediterranean powder room idea in Chicago with recessed-panel cabinets, blue walls, an undermount sink and dark wood cabinets

This master bath was dark and dated. Although a large space, the area felt small and obtrusive. By removing the columns and step up, widening the shower and creating a true toilet room I was able to give the homeowner a truly luxurious master retreat. (check out the before pictures at the end) The ceiling detail was the icing on the cake! It follows the angled wall of the shower and dressing table and makes the space seem so much larger than it is. The homeowners love their Nantucket roots and wanted this space to reflect that.
