From grand estates, to exquisite country homes, to whole house renovations, the quality and attention to detail of a "Significant Homes" custom home is immediately apparent. Full time on-site supervision, a dedicated office staff and hand picked professional craftsmen are the team that take you from groundbreaking to occupancy. Every "Significant Homes" project represents 45 years of luxury homebuilding experience, and a commitment to quality widely recognized by architects, the press and, most of all....thoroughly satisfied homeowners. Our projects have been published in Architectural Digest 6 times along with many other publications and books. Though the lion share of our work has been in Fairfield and Westchester counties, we have built homes in Palm Beach, Aspen, Maine, Nantucket and Long Island.

A zoomed-in view of a bedroom highlights thoughtful layering of textures and color. A walnut wood headboard anchors the space, complemented by a white nightstand and an abstract blue-and-gold watercolor artwork above. Blue, white, black, and grey throw pillows sit atop the bed, paired with a grey waffle throw blanket. The geometric blue-and-grey area rug adds pattern and visual interest, creating a cozy and cohesive design detail in the room. Photo by Thomas Kuoh.

Bedroom - large transitional master light wood floor and brown floor bedroom idea in Atlanta with gray walls

The color-drenched owner's bedroom is the beautiful sapphire of this sophisticated home. The rich blue envelops all who enter with a sense of calm and relaxation. Cream colored drapery, upholstery, bedding and cream wood accents on the dresser and nightstands contrast beautifully with the deep blue walls. A blush mohair throw adds depth and layers of velvet pillows add a luxurious touch. Modern blush artwork and an amber glass chandelier complete the sophisticated space.

Just off the main living space on the second floor, this master bedroom boasts the same vaulted ceilings with shiplap detail and large windows taking advantage of the views. Natural linen window coverings and bedding keep the space casual, while the tan, rose and brown palette bring in character. Hand thrown pottery lamps glazed in robin's egg blue add a personal touch.

Superb master bedroom for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase. A family Bilro's bed is matched with blue and white Portuguese inspired tiles to create a breathtaking room. John Dickinson side tables, Tokyo Pop Chaise by Adriade and Formations stool complete the setting. Incredible decorative painting work by Linda Horning and Katherine Jacobus. Blue & White bedspread reproduction of an original family piece with embroidered family crest.

This master bedroom features a neutral wall color called Tumbled Stone, accented with navy blue. Pendant lights frame the bed, and the large blue area rug adds warmth to the wood floor.

This coastal bedroom design is centered around a large blue abstract seascape painting that creates an immediate focal point and sets a calm, elevated tone for the entire space.
The original artwork features soft horizon lines and layered ocean-inspired blues, bringing a serene, beach-house feel into the room. Its wide, horizontal scale makes it ideal for placement over a bed, helping to visually anchor the space while adding depth and openness.
Framed in natural wood, the painting introduces warmth and texture, balancing the cool blue palette and giving the piece a finished, designer-quality presence. The artwork is intentionally the hero of the room—everything else is styled to support its impact.
This piece is highly versatile and works beautifully in coastal, modern, transitional, and minimalist interiors. Whether used in a primary bedroom, guest room, or vacation home, it delivers a refined, calming aesthetic that resonates with today’s most sought-after home design trends.

This whimsy guest bedroom suite encompasses all things sailing! An ode to lake life, custom sail boat drapery adorns the windows while a vintage sail boat lithograph art piece hangs above the iron bed. Red stripe bedding with blue and tab pillows pop on the crisp white bed sheets while a vintage quilt hangs off the bed. The wall sconces allow for more room on the navy blue wicker side tables and the room is anchored by a beautiful, cozy navy and cream striped rug.

Navy blue grass cloth and navy painted blue trim wraps the master bedroom. A crystal chain chandelier is a dramatic focal point. The tufted upholstered headboard and black stained wood with blackened stainless steel frame was custom made for the space. Navy diamond quilted bedding and light gray sheeting top the bed. Greek key accented bedside chests are topped with large selenite table lamps. A bright nickel sunburst mirror tops the bed. Abstract watery fabric drapery panels accent the windows and patio doors. An original piece of artwork highlighted with a picture light hangs above a small brass bench dressed in the drapery fabric.

Boothbay gray walls, textured ceiling wallpaper from York, fabric drum shade, neutral bedding, and a gorgeous Anthropologie mural take this primary bedroom to the next level
