Dymondia margaretae 'Silver Carpet' is a tough, low water ground cover that co-mingles beautifully with other low water, drought tolerant plants. And it takes foot traffic as well. Our homeowners wanted a garden with a natural feel. We added concrete steppers with dymondia groundcover for a new pathway to the backyard. Low water plantings with a natural feel bring hummingbirds. Drip irrigation and permeable paving. The nasturtiums are from seeds planted by the owner, the leaves are edible. Vegetable beds and fruit trees in the backyard provide a bountiful harvest.

Dymondia margaretae filling in gaps in flagstone. Sunken garden bed borders patio providing great growing conditions for vegetables without increasing evaporation. Client tends to garden on her own. Note the cilantro sprout under the fig she let to grow. :) (Photo 5 months after installation)
