While this new home had an architecturally striking exterior, the home’s interior fell short in terms of true functionality and overall style. The most critical element in this renovation was the kitchen and dining area, which needed careful attention to bring it to the level that suited the home and the homeowners. As a graduate of Culinary Institute of America, our client wanted a kitchen that “feels like a restaurant, with the warmth of a home kitchen,” where guests can gather over great food, great wine, and truly feel comfortable in the open concept home. Although it follows a typical chef’s galley layout, the unique design solutions and unusual materials set it apart from the typical kitchen design. Polished countertops, laminated and stainless cabinets fronts, and professional appliances are complemented by the introduction of wood, glass, and blackened metal – materials introduced in the overall design of the house. Unique features include a wall clad in walnut for dangling heavy pots and utensils; a floating, sculptural walnut countertop piece housing an herb garden; an open pantry that serves as a coffee bar and wine station; and a hanging chalkboard that hides a water heater closet and features different coffee offerings available to guests. The dining area addition, enclosed by windows, continues to vivify the organic elements and brings in ample natural light, enhancing the darker finishes and creating additional warmth. The double oven was replaced by a two-doors pantry. The trash can was relocated inside a cabinet and it comes out for more convenient use. The window valance was taken away and a pendant lighting was placed over the sink. The selection of the countertop and backsplash was done by Design Edge. Looking to include a range of soft colors the chosen granite has bluish green overtones (HL green). The selection of the granite was accentuated by the greenish tones of a glass mosaic combined with beige marble tiles. The selected paint color has green and gray undertones.

A transitional dining room, where we incorporated the clients' antique dining table and paired it up with chairs that are a mix of upholstery and wooden accents. A traditional navy and cream rug anchors the furniture, and dark gray walls with accents of brass, mirror and some color in the artwork and accessories pull the space together.

This beautiful white kitchen is bright and timeless. The homeowners did an excellent job of creating an elegant yet casual atmosphere where they can cook and entertain. They were also very practical in their material selection. By choosing Compac Perlino (an engineered quartz stone) countertops, they were able to achieve the look of marble without the maintenance. This countertop is very easy to care for, and it will look brand new for years to come.

This custom primary bathroom in Raleigh NC balances classic and contemporary design with a white double vanity, marble countertops, brass accents, and oversized mirrors. A frameless glass shower with white herringbone tile and recessed niches completes the light-filled, luxurious space.

This fun classic kitchen in Gold River features Columbia frameless cabinets in Sandy Hook grey. A green glass backsplash in a random matte and polished pattern complements the cabinets which are faced with both painted wood and frosted glass. This traditional bathroom design in Dresher, PA combines comfort, style, and customized storage in an elegant space packed with amazing design details. The DuraSupreme vanity cabinet has a Marley door style and hammered glass Mullion doors, with caraway stain color on cherry wood and a decorative valance. The cabinets are accented by TopKnobs polished nickel hardware and a Caesarstone Statuario Nuvo countertop with a built up ogee edge. The cabinetry includes specialized features like a grooming cabinet pull out, jewelry insert, and laundry hamper pull out. The open shower design is perfect for relaxation. It includes a Ceasarstone shower bench and wall, white geology 12 x 24 tiled walls, Island Stone tan and beige random stone mix shower floor, and VogueBay Botticino Bullet tiled shower niches. The shower plumbing is all Toto in satin nickel, and towel bars and robe hooks are perfectly positioned by the shower entrance. The bathtub has a Caesarstone Collarada Drift tub deck and Flaviker Natural tile tub sides, with the same tile used on the bathroom floor. A Toto Drake II toilet sits next to the bathtub, separated by a half wall from the bathroom's pocket door entrance.

Our clients wanted to add an ensuite bathroom to their charming 1950’s Cape Cod, but they were reluctant to sacrifice the only closet in their owner’s suite. The hall bathroom they’d been sharing with their kids was also in need of an update so we took this into consideration during the design phase to come up with a creative new layout that would tick all their boxes. By relocating the hall bathroom, we were able to create an ensuite bathroom with a generous shower, double vanity, and plenty of space left over for a separate walk-in closet. We paired the classic look of marble with matte black fixtures to add a sophisticated, modern edge. The natural wood tones of the vanity and teak bench bring warmth to the space. A frosted glass pocket door to the walk-through closet provides privacy, but still allows light through. We gave our clients additional storage by building drawers into the Cape Cod’s eave space.
