Home and Living Examiner said: Modern renovation by J Design Group is stunning J Design Group, an expert in luxury design, completed a new project in Tamarac, Florida, which involved the total interior remodeling of this home. We were so intrigued by the photos and design ideas, we decided to talk to J Design Group CEO, Jennifer Corredor. The concept behind the redesign was inspired by the client’s relocation. Andrea Campbell: How did you get a feel for the client's aesthetic? Jennifer Corredor: After a one-on-one with the Client, I could get a real sense of her aesthetics for this home and the type of furnishings she gravitated towards. The redesign included a total interior remodeling of the client's home. All of this was done with the client's personal style in mind. Certain walls were removed to maximize the openness of the area and bathrooms were also demolished and reconstructed for a new layout. This included removing the old tiles and replacing with white 40” x 40” glass tiles for the main open living area which optimized the space immediately. Bedroom floors were dressed with exotic African Teak to introduce warmth to the space. We also removed and replaced the outdated kitchen with a modern look and streamlined, state-of-the-art kitchen appliances. To introduce some color for the backsplash and match the client's taste, we introduced a splash of plum-colored glass behind the stove and kept the remaining backsplash with frosted glass. We then removed all the doors throughout the home and replaced with custom-made doors which were a combination of cherry with insert of frosted glass and stainless steel handles. All interior lights were replaced with LED bulbs and stainless steel trims, including unique pendant and wall sconces that were also added. All bathrooms were totally gutted and remodeled with unique wall finishes, including an entire marble slab utilized in the master bath shower stall. Once renovation of the home was completed, we proceeded to install beautiful high-end modern furniture for interior and exterior, from lines such as B&B Italia to complete a masterful design. One-of-a-kind and limited edition accessories and vases complimented the look with original art, most of which was custom-made for the home. To complete the home, state of the art A/V system was introduced. The idea is always to enhance and amplify spaces in a way that is unique to the client and exceeds his/her expectations. Looking for a nice clean crown molding, but what something different? These homeowners did just that with a simple clean flat molding applied to the wall and ceiling to create this look.

From the artist, Kathleen Patrick: "This work is from a series that takes inspiration from weathered stone facades, natural stone formations and the organic shapes in nature. This painting is a quiet study in subtleties where I used only neutral colors. There are elusive shapes and formations in the multi-layered background - creating a uniquely texted artwork that is continuously visually engaging." Paintings in this series have been created as large as 6 ft. x 8 ft.

The Manor Cove Residence was carefully edited to restore and respect its modern character from 1983. Over time the purity of the home’s design had been lost, and the floor plan was not up to date for current lifestyles. Careful attention was paid to create a harmonious vision for the architecture, interiors, and landscape of the project. A new color palette now graces the home inside and out for a seamless flow from interiors to the landscape creating a gallery-like atmosphere to showcase art, while large format windows crafted from Mahogany open the home with expansive views to the private landscape. The interior Millwork is crafted from the same wood adding warmth and sophistication. The original concrete floors were restored with an ebony stain which complements steel detailing along the homes’ exterior facades. Interiors: Carlton Edwards in collaboration w/ Greg Baudouin

This kitchen renovation was part of a larger, extensive interior renovation for an existing penthouse condominium residence, located in Clayton, Missouri. The primary concept for the overall renovation was to bring architectural continuity throughout the entire residence with an edited materials palette that serves as a neutral backdrop for the owners’ extensive art collection. For the kitchen area specifically, dark flooring comprised of large-format Italian porcelain tiles is contrasted with high-gloss white cabinetry at the kitchen’s perimeter and gray-stained reconstituted veneer wrapping the island cabinetry. This neutral palette of white and gray is further enhanced with quartz countertops that include dramatic, gray veining. The custom banquette seating with built-in storage, activates the north wall of the kitchen and serves as an anchor for a new dining table and chairs. A contrasting blue velvet textile softens the built-in banquette, and provides a restrained field of color. The gray wood veneer is echoed at custom wall panels behind the banquette, serving as a textural backdrop for artwork installation. And a light, feathery chandelier hangs above the dining table with intention in mind to not obstruct views of the artwork beyond. ©Alise O'Brien Photography

In this home office, traditional Tudor backgrounds of oak paneled walls and plaster crown details mix with contemporary, clean-lined furniture to create a chic space perfect for both work and relaxation. Completed in ______ of ______ as part of a larger renovation, the backgrounds of this room were left relatively untouched. The paneled walls were toned down with the addition of several layers of dark stain and the plaster crown and ceiling were given a fresh coat of paint. In furnishing the space, pieces were selected for their restrained style and lack of embellishment. The clean lines and dark finish of the writing desk and credenza compliment the paneling; echoing the angular forms found throughout the room. Above the credenza, a large mirror with antique glass faintly mimics the grid formation of the walls and furniture. In the bay window, a custom settee in camel colored wool offers ample seating without overpowering the space. Window treatments of the same material offer balance though textural contrast. For lighting, streamline fixtures in satin nickel with leather accents were selected for their contemporary appeal. Edited and uncluttered, the room was left intentionally spare to create an atmosphere of tranquility. Among the few accessories, a grouping of vintage white pottery was selected for their sculptural beauty.
