Inspiration for a mid-sized eclectic home design remodel in New York

Kitchen - mid-sized contemporary u-shaped beige floor and medium tone wood floor kitchen idea in Dallas with a single-bowl sink, flat-panel cabinets, white cabinets, quartzite countertops, white backsplash, porcelain backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island and white countertops

Custom made lockers with storage above and below. Plenty of hooks to hang up coats, backpacks and other necessities. Charging stations in each locker for charging all of the needed electronic devices.

This elegant mudroom entry creates a bright transitional space into the home. The specialty white Murano glass pendant light carries through to the nearby pantry lighting scheme. A purple velvet upholstered pillow provides welcoming seating to take off and put on shoes. To the right, while seated, is concealed hanging storage for coats. Drawers and shelves alongside the seating area contain ample mudroom storage, as well as a specialty charging station for clients' electronic devices. For this project WKD was asked to design a new kitchen, new fireplace book cases and cabinetry in the adjacent family room, creating a kitchen lounge. They were also asked to find space for a much needed walk-in pantry, reconfigure a home office and create a mudroom. By moving walls and reorienting doors, spaces were reconfigured to provide more storage and a more welcoming atmosphere. A feature of this kitchen remodel was the unusual combination of a glass counter top for dining, which meets the granite of the island. I love this room! Notice the drawer storage below the bench. The top drawers of the sideboard are equipped with electronics for charging various devices. We deleted the center room light fixture, moved the table off center, then added wall sconces and this array of ceiling-mount lights - switched separately and dimmable. Now the table can be placed this way or that, and good lighting is always available.

This modern credenza would make the perfect storage cabinet in nearly any environment. A colonial waterfront home in Mamaroneck was renovated to add this expansive, light filled kitchen with a rustic modern vibe. Solid maple cabinetry with inset slab doors color matched to Benjamin Moore Super White. Brick backsplash with white cabinetry adds warmth to the cool tones in this kitchen. A rift sawn oak island features plank style doors and drawers is a rustic contrast to the clean white perimeter cabinetry. This view shows the custom made cabinetry. The client requested the following features: clean, simple cabinetry, lots of storage, a TV area, open shelving on both sides of TV for displaying art, and a place behind a door to charge personal electronic devices. The glass shelving has LED lighting that creates a soft warm glow.

The island countertop overhangs off the one end, just enough to add one extra seat. This makes the perfect conversational spot and, of course, extra counter space.
