The goal of the client was to have a basement getaway like no other. In addition to their authentic Irish Pub (imported from Ireland) & classic billiard/poker area, they wanted a place that they to gather and watch multiple football games and the occasional movie in luxury while still keeping the pub atmosphere. After meeting with the client, we designed a media retreat that met the homeowners expectations for a getaway that was easy to use and enhanced their decor. We installed an 84" Ultra-HD 4K flat panel, flanked by 2 65" High Definition displays, each can display a different game and switch displays on the fly. The system is controlled by a Crestron Control system as well as the multiple zones of audio through-out the basement and the outside pool area. The Crestron is controlled by the client easily using an iPad with icon driven interface custom programmed by Georgia Home Theater. The LED lit vanity mirrors and striking sconces add a modern touch. The custom linen cabinet, complete with mirrored doors and full-extension drawers, provides more functional storage than the old linen closet. The shower was reimagined with plentiful glass to bring in the light. We installed multiple showering options that can be used alone or in combination including body sprays, rain head shower, standard and handheld showers. We paired a classic tub filler with a modern freestanding tub which makes the space feel both timeless and current. Replacing dark dated tiles with stunning marble-look porcelain brightens up the entire room. Programmable heated floors provide warmth and comfort and are a luxurious enhancement to any bathroom. Design elements from other rooms were even carried into the custom his and hers closets, achieving a cohesive style throughout the home.

A repeat client of Battle Architects consisted of two unique projects. A Kitchen/Family Room remodel and a new Barn. The Kitchen/Family Room program was to relocate the kitchen and create a new family room in the old kitchen area. This repositioning created a more open floor plan between the kitchen and family room. Openings to the adjacent dining room and back hall were modified to enhance the new spaces. The new kitchen consists of custom made cabinets with beaded inset doors, beadboard ceiling and reused exposed beams to give the space a traditional feel. The Barn project was a new garage with a playroom above. The exterior palette and details were develop to create it own unique appearance but compliment and tie into the existing home.

A curb less walk-in shower featuring a water-tight integrated Schluter shower system a and a tile-over floor drain. In-floor programable heat throughout the bathroom including the shower floor and seat provides a daily schedule of peak times of use. Macchu Picchu travertine tile was used in random sizes for the floor and provide warmth and visual interest. The all glass shower walls visually opens and expands the room and brings in additional natural light. The hand shower mounted on a slidebar ac-commodates a range of heights while stand-ing or seated and dual divertors enhance the shower experience.
