Inspiration for a timeless open concept kitchen remodel in Atlanta with beaded inset cabinets and two islands

Our client requested a design that reflected their need to renovate their dated bathroom into a transitional floor plan that would provide accessibility and function. The new shower design consists of a pony wall with a glass enclosure that has beautiful details of brushed nickel square glass clamps. The interior shower fittings entail geometric lines that lend a contemporary finish. A curbless shower and linear drain added an extra dimension of accessibility to the plan. In addition, a balance bar above the accessory niche was affixed to the wall for extra stability. The shower area also includes a folding teak wood bench seat that also adds to the comfort of the bathroom as well as to the accessibility factors. Improved lighting was created with LED Damp-location rated recessed lighting. LED sconces were also used to flank the Robern medicine cabinet which created realistic and flattering light. This 1949, 1020 SF home was in need of an update to better suite the needs of the owners. As empty nesters, the couple wanted better storage, flow and livability. This project entailed design and construction on the entire home. We took one of the three bedrooms and split it to enlarge the tiny bathroom and to create a walk in closet. The new bath is accessible from both the Primary Bedroom closet and the main living room. The original Primary Bedroom Closet was closed off from the bedroom and opened into the kitchen to create a step-in pantry complete with wine storage unit. The new pantry keeps the kitchen free of counter top clutter. The kitchen remained in the same footprint as the original kitchen but moved the range to the sink run. This allowed better flow through the kitchen to the outside entertainment area. The cabinet depth on the pantry side of the kitchen is narrower than normal to allow a better walk through. A light filled gem, the newly gut renovated 15th floor pied-a-terre in NYC is a joy to come home to for our bi-coastal clients. Perfect white walls provide the backdrop for contemporary and modern furnishings, while gorgeous new european white oak floors with a natural oil finish anchor the space. In this kitchen renovation, we installed Waypoint Living Spaces full overlay 720F Cherry Chocolate Glaze cabinets on the perimeter and island with roll out trays for pots and pan and tilt out trays accented with Top Knobs Griggs 5 1/16 inch pulls and Hollow Round 1 3/16 knobs. On the countertop, 3cm Giallo ornamental granite was installed. Linear Glass/Stone/Metal tile was installed on the backsplash. A Blanco 1 ¾ Diamond Silgranite Metallic gray undermount sink and Moen Arbor single handled spot resistant stainless faucet. 2 Monroe Mini Pendant lights over the island and a Monroe 5 Light Chandelier in brushed nickel over the table were installed.
