This late 70's ranch style home was recently renovated with a clean, modern twist on the ranch style architecture of the existing residence. We were hired to create the entire outdoor environemnt including the new pool and spa. Similar to the renovated home, this aquatic environment was designed to take a traditional pool and gives it a clean, modern twist. The site proved to be perfect for a long, sweeping curved water feature that can be seen from all of the outdoor gathering spaces as well as many rooms inside the residence. This design draws people outside and allows them to explore all of the features of the pool and outdoor spaces. Features of this resort like outdoor environment include play pool with two lounge areas with LED lit bubblers, Pebble Tec Pebble Sheen Luminous series pool finish, Lightstreams glass tile, spa with six custom copper Bobe water spillway scuppers, water feature wall with three custom copper Bobe water scuppers, Fully automated with Pentair Equipment, LED lighting throughout the pool and spa, gathering space with automated fire pit, lounge deck area, synthetic turf between step pads and deck and a fully loaded Gourmet outdoor kitchen to meet all the entertaining needs. The beautiful, old barn on this Topsfield estate was at risk of being demolished. Before approaching Mathew Cummings, the homeowner had met with several architects about the structure, and they had all told her that it needed to be torn down. Thankfully, for the sake of the barn and the owner, Cummings Architects has a long and distinguished history of preserving some of the oldest timber framed homes and barns in the U.S. Once the homeowner realized that the barn was not only salvageable, but could be transformed into a new living space that was as utilitarian as it was stunning, the design ideas began flowing fast. In the end, the design came together in a way that met all the family’s needs with all the warmth and style you’d expect in such a venerable, old building. On the ground level of this 200-year old structure, a garage offers ample room for three cars, including one loaded up with kids and groceries. Just off the garage is the mudroom – a large but quaint space with an exposed wood ceiling, custom-built seat with period detailing, and a powder room. The vanity in the powder room features a vanity that was built using salvaged wood and reclaimed bluestone sourced right on the property. Original, exposed timbers frame an expansive, two-story family room that leads, through classic French doors, to a new deck adjacent to the large, open backyard. On the second floor, salvaged barn doors lead to the master suite which features a bright bedroom and bath as well as a custom walk-in closet with his and hers areas separated by a black walnut island. In the master bath, hand-beaded boards surround a claw-foot tub, the perfect place to relax after a long day. In addition, the newly restored and renovated barn features a mid-level exercise studio and a children’s playroom that connects to the main house. From a derelict relic that was slated for demolition to a warmly inviting and beautifully utilitarian living space, this barn has undergone an almost magical transformation to become a beautiful addition and asset to this stately home.

This project was to convert an existing exposed basement into a pool room to be used for exercise, fun and hydro therapy. The pool includes swim jets that provide a current and allow swimmers to swim in place. An automatic cover helps to control the humidity in the room when the pool is not in use. The space also includes a Caldera Adventine spa for relaxation and hydrotherapy. Connor Design and Remodeling was awarded a Gold WRA Award for this project.

Solution: The home was refreshed with new furniture, updated lighting, and upgraded materials to give the space an entirely new feel while improving functionality and style throughout the interior and outdoor entertaining areas. Materials: Arizona Tile, SapienStone outdoor BBQ countertop, and lighting from Sunlighting. Budget: $75k-$150K | Timeline: Completed June 2020.

This is a detached garage in West University. West U would not allow the building to be attached to existing garage, we built a mirror image on the right side. Client owned 2 lots. Interior includes wine room, workshop, and dark room, as well as an exercise area.

This rustic-inspired basement includes an entertainment area, two bars, and a gaming area. The renovation created a bathroom and guest room from the original office and exercise room. To create the rustic design the renovation used different naturally textured finishes, such as Coretec hard pine flooring, wood-look porcelain tile, wrapped support beams, walnut cabinetry, natural stone backsplashes, and fireplace surround,

Our owners were looking to upgrade their master bedroom into a hotel-like oasis away from the world with a rustic "ski lodge" feel. The bathroom was gutted, we added some square footage from a closet next door and created a vaulted, spa-like bathroom space with a feature soaking tub. We connected the bedroom to the sitting space beyond to make sure both rooms were able to be used and work together. Added some beams to dress up the ceilings along with a new more modern soffit ceiling complete with an industrial style ceiling fan. The master bed will be positioned at the actual reclaimed barn-wood wall...The gas fireplace is see-through to the sitting area and ties the large space together with a warm accent. This wall is coated in a beautiful venetian plaster. Also included 2 walk-in closet spaces (being fitted with closet systems) and an exercise room. A 900 square foot addition was added to the home, the basement addition included a game room, play room for the children of the home, a game room for the adults, in home movie theater, exercise room, guest bedroom, and lounge area.

This home renovation features an updated basement including a den with built-in media wall, exercise room, kid’s play area, and a spare bedroom and bathroom. White and cool grays throughout the space with high-end finishes gives this basement a clean, modern look.

Arched openings over the garage doors and a metal accent roof are just two of the thoughtful exterior details that lend curb appeal to the Silvergate. The details continue on the interior of the plan. The main level includes a great room and bedroom/study with coffered ceiling details along with an open kitchen and dining room arrangement that simplifies entertaining. The master bedroom features twin walk-in closets and a bay window that easily accommodates a sitting area. Outdoor living space is abundant, with a screen porch off the dining room and an oversized, sky lit covered porch on the rear.
