Inspiration for a country basement remodel in Boston

The owners of this luxury high alpine residence were dissatisfied with their existing system, and brought in the expertise of Mountain Multivision and Sound team to redesign the entire system. The MITSUBISHI television, hidden in its custom built cabinet by MIDDLE ATLANTIC RACKS when not in use, is raised with the touch of a button by an AUTON motorized lift. Equipment includes an amplified CD player by NAD, a SONY blu-ray disc player, an IPOD dock, and SNELL acoustic speakers. Lighting and shade control for the room are provided by LUTRON. A PANAMAX surge protector cuts out any electrical noise and keeps the equipment safe. ELAN HOME SYSTEMS all home control lets the homeowner operate all equipment from a single device anywhere in the home. Thermal integration, security integration, and home network integration leave little maintenance for the homeowner.

When this client contacted us they were looking to expand their living area and wanted an area where they could entertain the UW Husky football players from Hawaii which is where they were from. We removed 16' of their house wall, installed a recessed beam to make the room ceilings higher to create an area that incorporated well with their existing family room. Designed to fit a full size pool table and make sure that there was no sun reflection onto their big screen television we started with 6' of solid roof leading out to a cathedral all glass roof sunroom.

This client wanted to create a media room experience in the family room. The flat panel TV mounted behind the screen was not giving him the desired experience. We use the existing structure to recess the screen into the ceiling above, while also building the projector into its own enclosure at the rear of the room. The effect: an easily hidden home theater in the center of the home!

Stylish brewery owners with airline miles that match George Clooney’s decided to hire Regan Baker Design to transform their beloved Duboce Park second home into an organic modern oasis reflecting their modern aesthetic and sustainable, green conscience lifestyle. From hops to floors, we worked extensively with our design savvy clients to provide a new footprint for their kitchen, dining and living room area, redesigned three bathrooms, reconfigured and designed the master suite, and replaced an existing spiral staircase with a new modern, steel staircase. We collaborated with an architect to expedite the permit process, as well as hired a structural engineer to help with the new loads from removing the stairs and load bearing walls in the kitchen and Master bedroom. We also used LED light fixtures, FSC certified cabinetry and low VOC paint finishes. Regan Baker Design was responsible for the overall schematics, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, as well as the selection and procurement of all fixtures, cabinets, equipment, furniture,and accessories. This apartment was influenced by four elements: Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. Dark colours of earth with the hint of fire flames in the kitchen area are counterbalanced by the shimmering colours of water in the bathroom area and the lightness of air in the master bedroom. Everything is interrelated and one element cannot exist without the others.
