This charming house wraps all of the conveniences of a modern, open concept floor plan inside of a wonderfully detailed modern farmhouse exterior. The front elevation sets the tone with its distinctive twin gable roofline and hipped main level roofline. Large forward facing windows are sheltered by a deep and inviting front porch, which is further detailed by its use of square columns, rafter tails, and old world copper lighting.
Inside the foyer, all of the public spaces for entertaining guests are within eyesight. At the heart of this home is a living room bursting with traditional moldings, columns, and tiled fireplace surround. Opposite and on axis with the custom fireplace, is an expansive open concept kitchen with an island that comfortably seats four. During the spring and summer months, the entertainment capacity of the living room can be expanded out onto the rear patio featuring stone pavers, stone fireplace, and retractable screens for added convenience.
When the day is done, and it’s time to rest, this home provides four separate sleeping quarters. Three of them can be found upstairs, including an office that can easily be converted into an extra bedroom. The master suite is tucked away in its own private wing off the main level stair hall. Lastly, more entertainment space is provided in the form of a lower level complete with a theatre room and exercise space.

1.What is crystallized glass stone(Marmoglass SN002 )?
The micro crystal stone is an innovative product designed as a substitute for the rare natural white marble. It is superior to the natural white marble in terms of characteristics, where the micro crystal stone possesses extreme density making it anti-breakage, giving it zero water absorption qualities, and making it resistant to acidic and alkaline substances. at the pace that mankind is consuming the natural resources in today’s world, the micro crystal stone is the ultimate solution, the superior alternative for the external and internal applications. It is certainly a revolutionary product and the finest construction material of the 21st century.
2.Why choose crystallized glass stone(Marmoglass SN002)?
The micro-crystal stone, also known as the micro-crystal glass, Marmoglass, is a new type of high-level decoration material. It is derived from natural inorganic material through a high temperature process, and it possesses excellent characteristics including the followings:
1. High Performance
The micro-crystal stone has even texture and high density, which makes it crush resistant, anti-bending and high resistant resulting its performance being higher than natural stone. It can be used for long period with minimal damage.
2. Acid-proof alkalinity and anti-corrosion
Not only does the micro-crystal stone posses special micro-crystal characteristics, it also has special glass features such as a fine texture, shiny surface and light reflection effect.
3. Fine Texture
We have the flexibility to manufacture any colors as per customer requirements while also making up the defect of color differences, which exists in natural stone. While the product is widely used for interior and interior decoration of star-level hotels, subways, local landmark buildings, airports, and office building etc, it is more suitable for high-level home decoration.
4. Pollution-resistance and easy maintenance
The micro-crystal is a kind of inorganic crystalline material with stable chemical characteristics. Its acid proof alkalinity and anti-corrosion nature are superior to nature stone, specifically its anti-weather characteristics whereby it is unaffected by the wind or sunlight.
5.A wide application range
The water absorption rare of micro-crystal is quite low, close to zero. Several types of dirty pulps and dyed solution have difficulty in penetrating it. Any dirt on the surface is easily cleaned and it is convenient to mankind.
6. Heat-bend reformation
With the heating method, the micro-crystal can be made into various arched profiles and arched slabs. the process is simple and it allows us to save time, cost, material and resources.
7. No radioactive elements
In the process of manufacturing the micro-crystal stone, we have integrated the elimination of all the harmful radioactive elements that are found in natural stone from its components. It is therefore the safest and most environmentally friendly building material in our modern world.
Crystallized glass can be processed into slab, tile, countertop, column and vanity top, wash basin and etc. It is applicable for flooring, interior and exterior wall cladding, stairs and table. Contributed to the character of no color difference, so it is widely used for top grade hotel, business building shopping mall and such great construction.

Wall Cladding
1.Wall should be leveled and cleaned,
2.Fix the panel on the wall with wire and expansion screw tightly,
3.Fill the space between the panel and the wall with cement mortar of ratio 1:3,
4.Clean the extra mortar and dirt on the surface.
Floor Installation
1.Mark out the baseline of gound level,
2.Mix the mortar with ratio of 1 cement to 4 sand to have semi-day mortar,
3.Lay the mixed mortar in level with a layer of 3-4cm thickness, place the tile over the mortar and adjust the height properly to be leveled,
4.Remove the tile after level adjustment.Put a thin layer of cement powder on the mortar and add water on it to become wet,
5.Put the tile on top and gently knock with rubber hammer until it sealed with the mortar properly. Make sure the tile is leveled and has the same space between each other. Those tiles which are not leveled with others should be removed and repeat the leveling procedure in step 4.Genetally,the space between two tiles should be 2mm for water evaporation and normal expansion.
Daily maintenance of Micro Crystal Stone
1.The laying area of micro crystal stone can only be opened for use or stacking any item on top after at least 24 hours of filling the gap,
2.The ground must be covered with plywood or carpet for protection in case of doing other decoration work after the installation of micro crystal stone floor,
3.In areas like exit and entrance, the surface of micro crystal stone floor should be covered by carpet or plywood to protect it from the damage of abrasion of sand or other hard material.
4.Do not use general floor wax on micro crystal stone,General floor wax is an oil-based wax which is easily stuck to dust.
5.Please use rubber wheels for shopping cart and trolley on micro crystal stone floor, for the hard wheel may scratch and damage the surface,
6.Regular care and maintenance is the key for long lasting of micro crystal stone’s high glossy and reflection.
Important Notice
1.Make sure the ground of laying area is dry and clean before laying mortar. The ratio 1:3(volume ratio) must be strictly followed and no extra water added during the installation progress
2.In the choice of using white cement as the filling material, the strength and quality of the cement must be checked properly.
3.It is not recommended to store micro crystal stone outdoor for long time. It should be covered with rock wool in winter and moved into indoor 2 hours in advance before installation. It also needs to be covered with waterproof cloth when installing during the rainy days outdoor,
4.When using micro crystal stone as ground floor,2mm wild gap must be left between the joints for the benefit of the water vaporization and physical expansion. In the case of large-scale installation, it is recommended to leave an 8mm expansion joint,
5.It is recommended that the area of micro crystal stone to remain-not used-for at least 24 hours and kept 2-3 days before passing or storing items on top.

This 1960’s home underwent a striking transformation--remodeling the kitchen, hall bathroom and laundry room. These homeowners dreamed of an open floor plan that would unite the kitchen and adjacent living areas. To accomplish this, we removed an imposing chimney that separated the kitchen from the living room. Additionally, we eliminated a weight-bearing wall that was between the kitchen and dining room. What a change! The spaces that formerly felt dark and confined are now bright and connected, comfortably accommodating larger gatherings.
When considering the specifics of design, we wanted to stay true to the home’s mid-century roots, while updating it with today’s style elements. Embracing the mid-century aspects, we played off some of the existing features of the home by mirroring them in the spaces we redesigned. To introduce today’s style, we thoughtfully incorporated the finishes and touches that would aptly reflect that component. The resulting design is beautifully juxtaposed by the homeowners’ treasured antique furniture pieces.
In the kitchen, we enhanced the open and airy feel by choosing a light greige color for the inset cabinetry paired with a tonal light-colored, blue-veined quartz for the countertops. These tones are perfectly complemented by the gold finishes of the cabinet hardware, faucets, and mid-century modern pendants. To maximize the storage potential of this kitchen, we customized the cabinetry with a convenient utensil organizer and a blind corner “cloud” pullout. A full height zellige-style tile backsplash with custom floating shelves makes for an impressive statement wall. With family get togethers in mind, we added an additional bar/prep sink and a spacious breakfast nook with a good deal of bench storage. A vertically-slatted wood half-wall separates the kitchen and breakfast nook, replicating the original mid-century wall detail at the entry.
Between the living room and kitchen, we designed a semi-open bar-height peninsula, accenting the bar front with a vertical shiplap kickplate in a bold blue. Carrying this color statement through the kitchen, the homeowner selected a “Navy Steel” Samsung Bespoke refrigerator and an AGA Mercury range, in “Blueberry.” These colors are also echoed in the multi-tonal quartz.
In the hall bathroom, we were aiming for the bright ambiance we’d achieved in the living areas. The penny round tile flooring and full height zellige-look tile combine for a classy, elevated look. In keeping with the kitchen, we installed similar gold fixtures and inset cabinetry and the same beautiful quartz countertop. The vanity towers provide these happy homeowners with additional room to store all their necessities.
Through the design process, we were able to gain square footage in the laundry room which allowed for the extra cabinet space the homeowners were looking for. Of course, a remodel is never complete without conveniences for the pets. The kitty’s litter box is neatly tucked in the cabinet behind a custom cat-cutout--a cute and tidy idea!

Many recent renovations had already taken place at this phenomenal old Tudor home. The kitchen redo was saved for last. Our mission, imposed by our client, was to create a jaw-dropping, ultra-functional space for family and friends to gather in for years to come. Naturally, the new kitchen would have to reflect the style of the home seamlessly.
One challenge was to incorporate very large professional style appliances into the space while keeping the feel of a stately, yet warm home. Custom wood panels were designed for the refrigerator units to give a furniture feel. A copper hood was designed to bring in an old world element. Wood panels were applied to all other appliances – two dishwashers, a wine refrigerator, and a beverage refrigerator.
An iron I-beam that separated the original kitchen from the butler’s pantry and back entry was covered in wood with chamfers to match the other ceiling beams in the home by a local woodworker.
Due to the age of the home, the outside walls are concrete block. This necessitated chiseling troughs into the concrete for electrical wiring. Ceilings were studded randomly, so finding openings for recessed lighting was hit or miss. A large cluster of wiring and plumbing to the second floor had to be hidden behind cabinetry to the left of and above the refrigerators. HVAC wasn’t straight forward either. Toe kick heaters from the old kitchen had to be replaced with other sources. A propane tank had to be added to fuel the large dual fuel, double oven range. The homeowner wanted to add a walk-in pantry for extra storage, so space was taken from an existing exterior space. This created the need for extra insulation, supplemental heat and added lighting. Needless to say, mechanicals were a big challenge.
Natural stone was added in backsplash areas to the ceiling to mimic the rectangular stone on the exterior of the home. Wood panels fill the backsplash areas under wall cabinets. Large chandeliers light the space. Open shelves at the wet bar/prep area offer convenient storage for grab and go service items. A built-in pantry with antique mirrored mullion doors hides a microwave, several other small appliances as well as dishes and food items. This pantry was tucked into an alcove for an added architectural element. Herringbone wood floors are classic and timeless. Wrought iron hardware and shelf brackets fit right in. Large Barley twist legs ground the island giving a nod to the Tudor style.
Mission accomplished.

This new construction home in the Copper Creek Neighborhood north of Pittsburgh was completed in summer of 2019. The home builder completed exterior work on the home in October of 2018 and from there, our team started work with late season plantings. With winter setting in, work was suspended until spring of 2019.
As the grass started to come up, we began work on the backyard. Our team designed an expansive outdoor space which included a large 24×48 foot swimming pool with auto cover, custom benches and lighting as well as a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and bar area conveniently located near the walk-out basement. The outdoor kitchen featured a dual refrigerator to separate the kids’ drink from the adult beverages, an ice chest, an oversized grill with storage underneath and pull-out trash.
We installed an oversized, 4×8 foot linear firepit with extra wide sandstone cap for keeping warm near the pool late into the evening. The firepit featured a custom brass burner to provide maximum heat.
With the main entertaining area on a lower level, we created custom steps with a boulder wall that creates a grand entrance from the driveway that compliments the hardscaping and plantings.
Wet Pittsburgh weather created a challenge requiring us to create temporary access roads to the backyard. The large entertaining space consumed a large portion of the usable space in the backyard, so the homeowner requested that we bring in extra fill to create a large grassy area for the kids to play. We filled and graded part of the rear/side yard and planted it with grass to accommodate this request.

Keowee Falls plan defines the style in a whole new way. A gabled covered entry with timber columns provides shelter from elements and welcome all visitors. The main floor is open, airy and anchored by kitchen. The kitchen has a large island and serves a large dining space and vaulted family room. The flex space is perfect for guests or the work from home member of the family. The mud room keeps coats, boots and book bags organized and convenient. The covered porch adds extra extra living space to enjoy nice weather and the backyard. The upper-level houses all of the sleeping quarters including a luxurious master suite. Master bedroom has vaulted Ceiling. The master bath has separate vanities, and a large, tiled shower and free-standing tub. And large walk-in closet. There are additional bedrooms and a compartmentalized bathroom. White oak Hardwood floor throughout first floor and stairs installed and finished by builder. There is a flex room/guest room on first floor level with full bath finished with tiled shower. Concrete drive with upgraded landscaping.

Robin Stancliff photo credits. My goal with this project was to create a glamorous, luxurious bathroom with plenty of space and a Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic. My client felt as though her old bathroom was constantly cluttered and filled with wasted space. As a dancer, she
wanted her bathroom to be a place where she could prepare for her performances, and also relax and unwind after her performances. Since she never used her tub, I removed it and expanded the shower, providing an extra foot of shower space. Because she
loves the travertine floor that was already in the bathroom, I found a porcelain look-alike to include in the shower, and for the shower bench. The original travertine in the bathroom was impossible to find, but locating the porcelain look-alike was a worthwhile challenge which resulted in a budget-friendly shower that is beautiful and easy to clean at the same time. This remodeled bathroom also includes open shelving
to display artwork and store items, as well as a special vanity designed with makeup application in mind. The height of the vanity was increased to executive height, adding custom convenience for the client. I also increased lighting throughout the bathroom,
replacing the original lighting with LED, and adding light into the center tower of the vanity as well as the display shelving. The new design of the vanity added extra space for storing makeup and toiletries to reduce clutter, and it also helped my client ergonomically. By blending unique textures and warm colors, I was able to create a
gorgeous bathroom evocative of a Tuscan home with a spa-like feel.

An uninspiring Master Bath was reimagined as an elegant, spa-like retreat. The original tub which was both built-in and cumbersome was replaced with a clean, oval soaking tub, repositioned to open space in the otherwise narrow room. The His and Hers vanities, rebuilt with drawer bases, accentuate the symmetry of the space while providing enhanced, more convenient storage. Extra thick countertops add a luxurious touch. A large, frameless shower with dramatic quartz walls and gold hardware makes a refreshing statement and invites you to come in. A tall cabinet for towels and other bath necessities sits conveniently at the shower entrance, bringing warmth, function and interest to an otherwise blank corner.
