Complete overhaul of the common area in this wonderful Arcadia home. The living room, dining room and kitchen were redone. The direction was to obtain a contemporary look but to preserve the warmth of a ranch home. The perfect combination of modern colors such as grays and whites blend and work perfectly together with the abundant amount of wood tones in this design. The open kitchen is separated from the dining area with a large 10' peninsula with a waterfall finish detail. Notice the 3 different cabinet colors, the white of the upper cabinets, the Ash gray for the base cabinets and the magnificent olive of the peninsula are proof that you don't have to be afraid of using more than 1 color in your kitchen cabinets. The kitchen layout includes a secondary sink and a secondary dishwasher! For the busy life style of a modern family. The fireplace was completely redone with classic materials but in a contemporary layout. Notice the porcelain slab material on the hearth of the fireplace, the subway tile layout is a modern aligned pattern and the comfortable sitting nook on the side facing the large windows so you can enjoy a good book with a bright view. The bamboo flooring is continues throughout the house for a combining effect, tying together all the different spaces of the house. All the finish details and hardware are honed gold finish, gold tones compliment the wooden materials perfectly.

This client was looking for the feel of Ojai and Santa Barbara in her Mission Viejo backyard. These photos are taken a week after installation, but once those Olive trees grow, there will be a beautiful transition to the conversation space of the garden. The panel was custom made out of metal and the raised vegetable garden is behind it.

This contemporary landscape was completely transformed with bluestone patios, pathways and stairways, horizontal redwood fencing, stucco covered retaining walls, drought-tolerant trees and other plantings along with low-voltage lighting, gravel in planting beds and along pathways and other accents. An olive tree surrounded by gravel and boulders and other low water plants providing a welcome entrance area. Other plants include: Cape Reed (Thamnochortus insignus, grass like plants and succulents). Updates to the home's exterior will be completed Fall of 2016. This 1956 John Calder Mackay home had been poorly renovated in years past. We kept the 1400 sqft footprint of the home, but re-oriented and re-imagined the bland white kitchen to a midcentury olive green kitchen that opened up the sight lines to the wall of glass facing the rear yard. We chose materials that felt authentic and appropriate for the house: handmade glazed ceramics, bricks inspired by the California coast, natural white oaks heavy in grain, and honed marbles in complementary hues to the earth tones we peppered throughout the hard and soft finishes. This project was featured in the Wall Street Journal in April 2022.

This is one of our favorite bathrooms we've done. The Marvel porcelain tile used is a special product. It exemplifies the aesthetic and technical level today's technology has reached. This Calacatta Extra color is inspired by the world renowned carrara marble of Italy, Our customer was thrilled with their new bathroom!
