With a modest patio between the home and the pool, the homeowners longed for better entertaining spaces and more connection between their interior, exterior, pool, and second floor. Copper Sky Design + Remodel began this renovation with the removal of a weathered pergola and creating a large opening from their living room to the patio for new sleek accordion steel doors that seamlessly merge the indoor and outdoor spaces. To further elevate the outdoor space, the adjacent patio was covered, and retractable screens and vinyl panels were installed. These features provide flexibility to enjoy the outdoors without the inconvenience of summertime insects, pollen, and unpredictable weather. The ceiling of the newly covered porch was custom designed to discreetly house the electrical components for the motorized screens, maintaining a clean and uncluttered appearance. A spiral staircase was introduced, leading to a second-story deck that spans the width of the home. This addition provides easy access to the outdoors directly from the bedrooms, offering a serene spot for enjoying the stunning views of the backyard. The deck features cable railing, which preserves the unobstructed view, and is adorned with elegant copper post caps. For added privacy, louvered wooden screens were installed at one end of the deck. Given the homeowners' joy for entertaining, this design included the installation of outdoor speakers and color-changing LED lights on the porch ceiling and upper deck railings. The LED lights allow for a customizable ambiance, enabling the homeowners to set the perfect mood for any occasion. Additionally, gas lanterns were added to the porch beams, casting a romantic glow over the pool area, and enhancing the atmosphere for evening gatherings.

We took this high-rise condo to new heights with a significant renovation. All three bathrooms, the kitchen and living area were reimagined to provide updates and special features, worthy of its location in the Mayfair building at Turtle Creek. Bathrooms boasting marble, custom vanities, and specialty plumbing ensure luxury experiences. By squaring off a rounded entryway, we gained space to form a functional laundry room and pantry adjacent to the kitchen. In addition, this enabled us to design the kitchen with a new, expansive island and maximize functionality. The fumed eucalyptus wood cabinets add visual interest and warmth to the space, beyond the additional storage created. A waterfall island face, the concealed cooktop knobs and marble countertops continuing up the wall as a backsplash point to some of the kitchen’s most discerning features. The specialty cabinetry was extended into the living space as a fully custom media cabinet and concealed bar, complete with wine storage to create the room’s unmistakable focal point. This condominium now possesses the bells and whistles Dallasites most appreciate.

This quaint craftsman home had a very dark, difficult master bath space and the homeowners were clamoring for a solution. Not only was more functionality mandatory, but also ensuring the style felt more like the homeowners and original to the house. We had the perfect solution… colorful concrete caustic tiles! Opening up the shower and removing the labyrinth-like doorless entrance was key! Doors now open in sensible ways, and the right things now seem to be in all the right places to get ready each day. We enabled the shower and the entire bathroom to be flooded with light and feature a stunning backwall full of style! This is now our clients’ happy place!

A low bay window and a second unnecessary door to the backyard limited options for reworking the layout. The solution was to replace the window with a new unit that would offer a great spot for a new farm sink. Eliminating the unused back door enabled us to locate a large new pantry and fridge in its place. (A second door to the backyard remained intact). Connecting the kitchen to the dining room was also a priority. A wide new cased opening makes the dining and kitchen flow beautifully, allowing the cook to chat with guests. New gourmet appliances and a large island offer all the amenities an avid cook could want. On the seating side of the island, lap drawers keep school supplies handy. A tall “between the studs” cabinet offers dedicated storage for kids snacks and a handy spot for mail and school info, so the counters stay free of papers. A charging drawer also helps keep the kitchen tidy. The palette for the new kitchen features fresh white perimeter cabinets, with a contrasting dark stained island, open shelves, and custom hood. The homeowners could not be happier with their new kitchen, which has gone from almost unusable to being the true heart of their home!

Competing focal points was the design challenge for this living room. The large fireplace was at one end of the room and a golf course view at the other. Back to back sofas create two seating areas so that both features could be enjoyed. The fireplace was enhanced with a surround of 100+ yr. old wood. A backdrop of soothing green tones on the walls enables the original art to pop. A color palette of antique celadon and burnt umber resides beautifully with the deep rich tones of the wood furnishings. The heirloom quality tea table is a John Widdicomb piece that was purchased from a private collection. The over-scaled library cabinet and buffet was used to create intimacy and display a myriad of family’s collectibles. The "Corner Villa" design principles are meticulously crafted to create communal spaces for celebrations and gatherings while catering to the owner's need for private sanctuaries and privacy. One unique feature of the villa is the courtyard at the back of the building, separated from the main facade and parking area. This placement ensures that the courtyard and private areas of the villa remain secluded and at the center of the structure. In addition, the desire for a peaceful space away from the main reception and party hall led to more secluded private spaces and bedrooms on a single floor. These spaces are connected by a deep balcony, allowing for different activities to take place simultaneously, making the villa more energy-efficient during periods of lower occupancy and contributing to reduced energy consumption. The villa's shape features broken lines and geometric lozenges that create corners. This design not only allows for expansive balconies but also provides captivating views. The broken lines also serve the purpose of shading areas that receive intense sunlight, ensuring thermal comfort.
