Finished. A beautiful fire feature design patio extention. Talking Rock Ranch, Precott, Arizona, Yavapai County. Clean lines with rustic rock and flagstone. A floating slab of colored concrete with an acid wash finish to expose the aggregate. Amber glass rock cover the burner and flames. The stone is El Dorodo Country Rubble Cognac, flagstone is an ashlyar cut from Cornerstone Materials, pavers are Pavestone. LED and low volt lighting light up the glass mosaic tile and under the floating concrete slab. At night is incredible. The flames emerge from the glass rock and shed a soft gentle flame and light reflection onto the glass tile. Custom metal plates floating on front of tile work. Plates have each a petroglyph image laser plasma cut in it. Metal Plates were created by Jim from Prescott Metal Works. A true artist. The LEDs light up from under the slab and give the illusion of floating. A true one-of-a-kind.

A family of three designed the ideal home to age in place and care for their adult son. Designing a Unique Space For years, the Bronks had a clear idea of what their master suite should look like. Their unique design even began appearing on HGTV shows, much to their amusement. The layout was essential to accommodating their schedules without disturbing each other's sleep. The house is ingeniously split into two units. The main living area features three bedrooms—one serves as Dale's home office, another as his wife's art studio, and the third is their master suite. Connected by a wall, there's a separate 700-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment with its own laundry, kitchen, and living room. This separate apartment is home to their unique needs adult son. "Having a place where he's connected to the family but has his own autonomous space was crucial," Dale explained. This old farmhouse (ca. late 18th century) has undergone many renovations over the years. Spring Creek Design added its stamp in 2008, with a small mudroom addition and a complete interior renovation. The addition encompasses a 1st floor mudroom with extensive cabinetry and closetry. Upon entering the space from the driveway, cabinet and countertop space is provided to accommodate incoming grocery bags. Next in line are a series of “lockers” and cubbies - just right for coats, hats and book bags. Further inside is a wrap-around window seat with cedar shoe racks beneath. A stainless steel dog feeding station rounds out the amenities - all built atop a natural Vermont slate floor. On the lower level, the addition features a full bathroom and a “Dude Pod” - a compact work and play space for the resident code monkey. Outfitted with a stand-up desk and an electronic drum kit, one needs only emerge for Mountain Dew refills and familial visits. Within the existing space, we added an ensuite bathroom for the third floor bedroom. The second floor bathroom and first floor powder room were also gutted and remodeled. The master bedroom was extensively remodeled - given a vaulted ceiling and a wall of floor-to-roof built-ins accessed with a rolling ladder. An extensive, multi-level deck and screen house was added to provide outdoor living space, with secure, dry storage below. Design Criteria: - Update house with a high sustainability standard. - Provide bathroom for daughters’ third floor bedroom. - Update remaining bathrooms - Update cramped, low ceilinged master bedroom - Provide mudroom/entryway solutions. - Provide a window seating space with good visibility of back and side yards – to keep an eye on the kids at play. - Replace old deck with a updated deck/screen porch combination. - Update sitting room with a wood stove and mantle. Special Features: - Insulated Concrete Forms used for Dude Pod foundation. - Soy-based spray foam insulation used in the addition and master bedroom. - Paperstone countertops in mudroom. - Zero-VOC paints and finishes used throughout the project. - All decking and trim for the deck/screen porch is made from 100% recycled HDPE (milk jugs, soda, water bottles) - High efficiency combination washer/dryer.

Project: Le Petit Hopital in Provence Limestone Elements by Ancient Surfaces Project Renovation completed in 2012 Situated in a quiet, bucolic setting surrounded by lush apple and cherry orchards, Petit Hopital is a refurbished eighteenth century Bastide farmhouse. With manicured gardens and pathways that seem as if they emerged from a fairy tale. Petit Hopital is a quintessential Provencal retreat that merges natural elements of stone, wind, fire and water. Talking about water, Ancient Surfaces made sure to provide this lovely estate with unique and one of a kind fountains that are simply out of this world. The villa is in proximity to the magical canal-town of Isle Sur La Sorgue and within comfortable driving distance of Avignon, Carpentras and Orange with all the French culture and history offered along the way. The grounds at Petit Hopital include a pristine swimming pool with a Romanesque wall fountain full with its thick stone coping surround pieces. The interior courtyard features another special fountain for an even more romantic effect. Cozy outdoor furniture allows for splendid moments of alfresco dining and lounging. The furnishings at Petit Hopital are modern, comfortable and stately, yet rather quaint when juxtaposed against the exposed stone walls. The plush living room has also been fitted with a fireplace. Antique Limestone Flooring adorned the entire home giving it a surreal out of time feel to it. The villa includes a fully equipped kitchen with center island featuring gas hobs and a separate bar counter connecting via open plan to the formal dining area to help keep the flow of the conversation going.

It was important for our client to incorporate blue in the new bathroom as well as contemporary fixtures and interesting, one of a kind finishes. The jetted tub which features chromotherapy, and surrounded by a deck of stunning Italian glass & mirrored floral mosaic tile grabs your attention. This old farmhouse (ca. late 18th century) has undergone many renovations over the years. Spring Creek Design added its stamp in 2008, with a small mudroom addition and a complete interior renovation. The addition encompasses a 1st floor mudroom with extensive cabinetry and closetry. Upon entering the space from the driveway, cabinet and countertop space is provided to accommodate incoming grocery bags. Next in line are a series of “lockers” and cubbies - just right for coats, hats and book bags. Further inside is a wrap-around window seat with cedar shoe racks beneath. A stainless steel dog feeding station rounds out the amenities - all built atop a natural Vermont slate floor. On the lower level, the addition features a full bathroom and a “Dude Pod” - a compact work and play space for the resident code monkey. Outfitted with a stand-up desk and an electronic drum kit, one needs only emerge for Mountain Dew refills and familial visits. Within the existing space, we added an ensuite bathroom for the third floor bedroom. The second floor bathroom and first floor powder room were also gutted and remodeled. The master bedroom was extensively remodeled - given a vaulted ceiling and a wall of floor-to-roof built-ins accessed with a rolling ladder. An extensive, multi-level deck and screen house was added to provide outdoor living space, with secure, dry storage below. Design Criteria: - Update house with a high sustainability standard. - Provide bathroom for daughters’ third floor bedroom. - Update remaining bathrooms - Update cramped, low ceilinged master bedroom - Provide mudroom/entryway solutions. - Provide a window seating space with good visibility of back and side yards – to keep an eye on the kids at play. - Replace old deck with a updated deck/screen porch combination. - Update sitting room with a wood stove and mantle. Special Features: - Insulated Concrete Forms used for Dude Pod foundation. - Soy-based spray foam insulation used in the addition and master bedroom. - Paperstone countertops in mudroom. - Zero-VOC paints and finishes used throughout the project. - All decking and trim for the deck/screen porch is made from 100% recycled HDPE (milk jugs, soda, water bottles) - High efficiency combination washer/dryer.

A family of three designed the ideal home to age in place and care for their adult son. Designing a Unique Space For years, the Bronks had a clear idea of what their master suite should look like. Their unique design even began appearing on HGTV shows, much to their amusement. The layout was essential to accommodating their schedules without disturbing each other's sleep. The house is ingeniously split into two units. The main living area features three bedrooms—one serves as Dale's home office, another as his wife's art studio, and the third is their master suite. Connected by a wall, there's a separate 700-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment with its own laundry, kitchen, and living room. This separate apartment is home to their unique needs adult son. "Having a place where he's connected to the family but has his own autonomous space was crucial," Dale explained. In designing Polka Dots, Toyo Ito placed multiple methacrylate, circular inserts in apparent disarray on the doors, in stark contrast to the strict and minimalist structures of this piece of furniture. This graphic idea is reminiscent of Tokyo's Za-Koenji theatre, also designed by the great architect. The eight beech slats in its structure bend and twist as if they were dancing. Their elastic tension is essential to provide the hanger with excellent form and stability. Conversely, it is emphasized as only its central part is covered.
