A pre-war West Village bachelor pad inspired by classic mid-century modern designs, mixed with some industrial, traveled, and street style influences. Our client took inspiration from both his travels as well as his city (NY!), and we really wanted to incorporate that into the design. For the living room we painted the walls a warm but light grey, and we mixed some more rustic furniture elements, (like the reclaimed wood coffee table) with some classic mid-century pieces (like the womb chair) to create a multi-functional kitchen/living/dining space. Using a versatile kitchen cart with a mirror above it, we created a small bar area, which was definitely on our client's wish list! Photos by Matthew Williams

A British client requested an 'unfitted' look. Robinson Interiors was called in to help create a space that appeared built up over time, with vintage elements. For this kitchen reclaimed wood was used along with three distinctly different cabinet finishes (Stained Wood, Ivory, and Vintage Green), multiple hardware styles (Black, Bronze and Pewter) and two different backsplash tiles. We even used some freestanding furniture (A vintage French armoire) to give it that European cottage feel. A fantastic 'SubZero 48' Refrigerator, a British Racing Green Aga stove, the super cool Waterstone faucet with farmhouse sink all hep create a quirky, fun, and eclectic space! We also included a few distinctive architectural elements, like the Oculus Window Seat (part of a bump-out addition at one end of the space) and an awesome bronze compass inlaid into the newly installed hardwood floors. This bronze plaque marks a pivotal crosswalk central to the home's floor plan. Finally, the wonderful purple and green color scheme is super fun and definitely makes this kitchen feel like springtime all year round! Masterful use of Pantone's Color of the year, Ultra Violet, keeps this traditional cottage kitchen feeling fresh and updated.

This brick and limestone, 6,000-square-foot residence exemplifies understated elegance. Located in the award-wining Blaine School District and within close proximity to the Southport Corridor, this is city living at its finest! Additional features include hardwood flooring throughout the main level and upper two floors; sophisticated architectural detailing throughout the house including coffered ceiling details, barrel and groin vaulted ceilings; painted, glazed and wood paneling; laundry rooms on the bedroom level and on the lower level; five fireplaces, including one outdoors; and HD Video, Audio and Surround Sound pre-wire distribution through the house and grounds. The home also features extensively landscaped exterior spaces, designed by Prassas Landscape Studio. This home went under contract within 90 days during the Great Recession.
