We added a lot of cabinetry to the kitchen, but the former table was not really pulling its weight and my client, who is small in stature, hoped to get her dishes out of upper cabinets and into drawers. Making the island look like a piece of furniture and adding brace supports that evoke a Craftsman feel was a huge hit with my clients and her guests alike.

A primary wall was removed and a custom peninsula/bar area was created to house the client’s extensive collection of glassware and bar essentials on a sleek shelving unit suspended from the ceiling and wrapped around the base of the peninsula. Light wood cabinetry with a retro feel was selected and provided the perfect complement to the unique backsplash which extended the entire length of the kitchen, arranged to create a distinct ombre effect that concentrated behind the Wolf range. Subtle brass fixtures and pulls completed the look while panels on the built in refrigerator created a consistent flow to the cabinetry. Additionally, a frosted glass sliding door off of the kitchen disguises a dedicated laundry room full of custom finishes. Raised built-in cabinetry houses the washer and dryer to put everything at eye level, while custom sliding shelves that can be hidden when not in use lessen the need for bending and lifting heavy loads of laundry. Other features include built-in laundry sorter and extensive storage.

This gorgeous property just hit the market. I love the vaulted ceilings and original entranceway. The clients wanted a room that their little girl could grow into. They needed enough storage for her sweet belongings, a designated area for writing and for having tea parties and a spot for her books. We did just that and more! We created a sweet tent like nook for her to read or just daydream! Using a convertible daybed was a fantastic way to create more room in the space. With the soft gold touches, pink and white striped walls and hits of black we delivered the sophisticated, yet playful feel our clients were looking for.

Attaching the structure to the house and extending it out further we were able to provide a very usable outdoor living area, it feels like an indoor living room. The ceiling is a beautiful stained tongue and grove while all the exterior is hardi plank painted to match the house. The tin roof for the covered patio and the rest of the house was install by Allegiance Roofing. The fireplace and 36" tall stone column are constructed out of Austin Limestone.

This newly remodeled bathroom in Grandview Heights is a combination of retro and modern. The shower provides a large space with duel rain shower heads, frame-less doors, shower seat, subway tile with black accents, and a shower niche. From our Go Fund me Page Feb. 2016 Princess Kaylee is only two and a half years old and was recently diagnosed with cancer. We need your generosity so that we can give her the enchanted room of her dreams as she endures 2.5 years of treatments. We're breaking out our magic wands and designing a gorgeous room for this sweet little girl. With your assistance, we can create a fairy tale space for Kaylee and her family to rest and recover. Kaylee's story hits especially close to home in our tight-knit community. Her mother, Kelly, is an oncology nurse at Rady Children's Hospital. Yes, you read that correctly - her mother has spent the last 8 years compassionately caring after children who have been diagnosed with cancer. In fact, she was one of the dedicated nurses who so wonderfully cared for Savvy Giving by Design's very first recipient, Kasey Harvey. And Kelly is not the only hero in this family. Their son Drew is 5 years-old and daughter Kaylee will turn 3 in August. Kaylee's diagnosis, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, turned this family's world upside down. While her prognosis is, thankfully, very good (with a 93% cure rate), the treatment will be incredibly arduous. Kaylee is facing 2.5 years of ongoing treatment with periods of intense chemotherapy followed by "maintenance" chemo. As hard as it is to believe, Kaylee's treatment will not be complete until she is 5 years-old and preparing to enter kindergarten. Given the ongoing and onerous treatment regimen that Kaylee faces, Savvy Giving by Design knows that she will need a beautiful and comfortable room where she can rest and be visited by family and friends. Kaylee is currently transitioning out of her crib and we have big intentions for this princess-loving little girl. Our plan is to combine fun and functionality with details and personal touches that will show Kaylee that there is an entire community rallying behind her. We will incorporate Kaylee's favorite colors (pink and purple) and turn her fantasies into reality by installing a built-in castle bed that makes her room feel magical and shows this little girl that anything is possible. This room will have some very personal special touches incorporated into it to pay tribute to Kaylee's fairy godmother. When Kelly was 13, she lost her very best friend, Jessica, to cancer. Kelly paid tribute to her dear friend by naming her daughter Kaylee Jessica and she wholeheartedly believes that Jessica will be watching over her little girl as she travels this difficult road. With sufficient funding, we will also be able to do a little makeover for Kaylee's knight in shining armor, her big brother Drew. We recognize and appreciate that Drew faces a struggle all his own as his little sister battles this disease. Savvy Giving by Design is a the philanthropic arm of Savvy Interiors, Inc. We are registered with the state of California as a nonprofit and awaiting our "formal" 501(c)(3) designation by the IRS. Your donations are tax-deductible. Hits all the marks in coziness and design. This living room combines wood, metal, leather, wool and other durable and comfortable fabric choices, in light and dark hues, creating a perfect mixture of textures that compliment each other beautifully. The selections from various manufacturers include a Hancock and Moore leather sofa, wood chairs by Lexington, Tommy Bahama Collection, 2 High-back swivel chairs in a neutral fabric by Century, and Palecek petrified wood waterfall tables on hand-hammered wrought iron bases in a bronze finish and branch floor lamp. A Global View two-drawer chest with inn pulls separates the century swivels. Everything works in unison to create a whimsical yet rustic feel. Many of the clients personal items were included in the design process to make this space unique and interesting. The antique bench makes a perfect coffee table. The hide rug adds interest and sets wood-encased swivel chairs apart and the wheel end table brings in a "Motor City" influence. It can be placed in front of or behind the chairs in this design. The exceptional, custom-built Rough Sawn wood bookcase by Harborview Building of Petoskey, houses a 60" TV behind sliding barn doors on Aspen black-iron hardware. The added beams and frames to display an antique postcard collection, add warmth to this large space surrounded by windows. Two pillows in hide on the sofa and with sewn-on embellishments on the Century swivel, high-back chairs complete the look. Neutrals have been contrasted with a patterned Loloi (Hermitage Tobacco) rug to add a splash of color and highlight different finishes throughout the room. As a bonus, this patterned rug will hide just about anything.
