This beautifully appointed cottage is a peaceful refuge for a busy couple. From hosting family to offering a home away from home for Navy Midshipmen, this home is inviting, relaxing and comfortable. To meet their needs and those of their guests, the home owner’s request of us was to provide window treatments that would be functional while softening each room. In the bedrooms, this was achieved with traversing draperies and operable roman shades. Roman shades complete the office and also provide privacy in the kitchen. Plantation shutters softly filter the light while providing privacy in the living room.

Throughout this home, we installed new white oak wood floors with a gorgeous espresso and matte finish, new 82'' tall doors, also in espresso, new hardware on the doors, fresh paint, and a new electrical layout of ceiling lights. For the kitchen, we provided extra counter space by installing an additional counter that also works as a breakfast bar. We also installed 42'' cabinets, LED cabinet lighting, and new pulls and backsplash. Home located in Chicago, Illinois. The combination of Smith & Noble custom Solar Shades and Smith & Noble custom Roman Shades gives this home theater room the light control it needs. This house in Lower Burns Park in Ann Arbor had a small, cramped and chopped kitchen with no eating area or space for a family to cook or gather. The Rochman Design Build Team stayed with the clients' feel for a more European kitchen, opened up the walls, and created a space where the family can now make dinner, do homework or put groceries away, all at the same time :-)

Trendy Blinds: Honeycomb or cellular shades are a versatile solution for both French door glass and windows. Provide extra insulation in the winter and reduce heat gain in the summer.

ACRYLITE bronze acrylic impact resistant panels over a custom wood framed structure provide a great outdoor space for this small cabin on Discovery Bay. The bronze color panels and powder coated aluminum clamping bar system went well with the modern color scheme of the home. Having a cover over the cedar structure and deck below will help to minimize the maintenance. This will be a great dining space on those warm summer eves. Our clients wanted an impressive light fixture to hang from their 3 story staircase but a skylight situated at the top of the ceiling made it seem like an impossible request. Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson came up with a creative solution by designing a steal sculpture reminiscent of a large tree branch. The branch-like sculpture allows natural light to filter through the skylight by day while providing unlimited access points for 48 individual bocci lights to illuminate by night. The 700 pound steel sculpture needed to be properly engineered and securely welded to the structure of the house. It was not a small undertaking but the Robeson Design team pulled it off! This unique light fixture makes a WOW first impression the moment you enter the front door and winds its way through the center of the home to the 3rd floor providing enjoyment at every turn. Robeson Design added sconces thorough out the spiral staircase with subtle silver branches to enhance the theme. Our clients think it's quite possibly the most stunning feature of their newly remodeled LaJolla home. It was a mutual love of Italy, specifically the Tuscan countryside, that inspired renowned architect Mark Scheurer and his wife, Jane, to build their dream home in a simplistic, but elegant style reminiscent of a centuries old Italian farmhouse. Scheurer’s aim was to bring light, air, and an indoor/outdoor feeling into the home while preserving privacy throughout this rustic Southern California home, all of which was achieved a lot in part due to the implementation of Eldorado Stone. The use of stone was a predominant element throughout the design. Scheurer used 2,800 square feet of a custom blend of Eldorado’s Veneto Fieldledge and Hillstone profiles, both of which were applied with an overgrout technique, creating a sense of ageless authenticity and textural beauty. Another 500 square feet was used in the interior to create a dramatic focal point of exposed stone in the living room and boast large, arching windows that open up the living room and filter in light. Upstairs, the master bedroom continues the home’s rustic Italian design with exposed stone walls that reach to the beamed ceiling above. Although Scheurer is in a neighborhood that request for real products to be used in home construction, he had no problem obtaining approval to use Eldorado Stone, which speaks volumes about Eldorado’s beauty and believability. No one doubted the authenticity of the product. In fact, Scheurer believes that Eldorado is even better than natural stone in that the color palette is easily controlled as well as consistent. Inspiration for a contemporary light wood floor kitchen remodel in Jackson with an undermount sink, flat-panel cabinets and stainless steel appliances

This loft is situated in the former International Tailoring Company Building in New York’s East Village. The clients bought a top-floor loft and an abandoned mechanical room directly above it. Our task was to combine the rooftop space with the loft to create a cohesive triplex apartment. We achieved this by carefully opening up the roof’s 100-year-old structural members to install a staircase connecting the existing loft to the additional upper two levels. On the main floor, the first run of the staircase is located in the apartment's entry and is made of a sculptural form of dark oak. The second run of the staircase is more open, allowing light from the top level's many windows to filter into the spaces below. The existing main loft was gut-renovated to create a more open space. The open kitchen/living space was strategically positioned to be surrounded by the building’s huge industrial steel windows, taking advantage of the apartment's high vantage over Union Square. Opposite the windows, custom woodwork serves to unify the kitchen with the living room. The built-in spans the full width of the apartment with dark textured oak panels concealing the appliances, the TV, and creating ample storage. The blackened steel paneled backsplash and chunky black granite countertops complete the dark color palette used in the kitchen. Throughout the apartment, a play of dark and light elements creates a distinctive atmosphere. In the open living areas, the light pouring in from the large windows contrasts with the dark colors selected for the built environment. The more private spaces, such as the bedroom, have a darker feel, with walls and ceilings painted in a deep purple that borders on black alongside more dark oak custom built-ins. The dining room functions as a bridge between the public and private spaces, with walls and ceiling painted in the same moody purple and a vintage mirrored tile accent wall reflecting natural light from the adjacent room’s windows. The middle floor, which has fewer windows, is painted bright white to enhance light in the home office located there.. On the penthouse level, panoramic views were achieved by installing new floor-to-ceiling sliding glass panels, supplementing the existing industrial steel windows, and opening onto an adjacent roof terrace. The top floor functions as a lounge overlooking the city and includes unique custom features, such as a steel multi-drop lighting fixture above the stairs, hanging glass and steel shelving, and a built-in wet bar. Here again, dark-colored finishes and materials are used as a counterpoint to the abundant light entering the space. A future plan for the apartment is to create a private roof garden on top of the penthouse with an outdoor stair connecting it to the roof terrace below.
