The homeowners wished to create one large open space from their closed off kitchen and dining room. We flipped their kitchen and dining room, eliminating the wall between, gave them a seated island with under counter radiant heating mat, a mudroom area with drop zone by their entry door and a window bench in their new dining area. The addition of windows in their new kitchen makes the space bright and cheery. Back venting the hood allowed for a glass cabinet above to showcase fun collectibles. Cabinets by Executive Cabinetry - Villa Door in Maple with Alabaster paint on the perimeter and Cottage Blue Wash with Pewter glaze on the island. Photos by Michael Patrick Lefebvre

Family room - traditional dark wood floor and brown floor family room idea in New York with beige walls, a standard fireplace, a stone fireplace and a wall-mounted tv

The kitchen was a full remodel which incorporated all new high-end appliances like a 48” Sub Zero refrigerator and Thermador cooktop and ovens. Bead board was added to the ceiling and a heavy crown molding adds detail to the transitional kitchen. The cabinets are painted Swiss coffee by Benjamin Moore, which contrast against the brown granite and creamy subway tile backsplash. A custom mosaic is the centerpiece of the kitchen, adding an organic element. The refrigerator and dishwasher are paneled to help conceal the appliances. A wine fridge was incorporated into the peninsula. Pendants add extra light to peninsula where there is bar stools for extra seating. Photography by: Erika Bierman

The upper cabinets above the wet bar were removed and replaced with these contemporary stainless steel-framed cabinets and shelves. The l.e.d. lighting helps to accent the new, fresh tile.
