Recalling the Nordic tradition, the Claire chair is an elegant symbol of design and maximum comfort thanks to its wide, curved, wrap-around backrest. This screened-in porch is captivated by this Hartwell Outdoor Dining set. When asked about what inspired the space, Summer said, “This family of seven wanted a screened porch that would be an extension of their kitchen and dining room. They wanted a space to enjoy outdoor dining and to host extended family and friends. The space needed to be beautiful yet durable enough for an active family with little ones. That's why we customized a table from Rustic Trades.”
The environment has three spaces to gather with the main area being the handcrafted Hartwell Outdoor Dining Table. This table sizes at 96"L by 36"W by 30"H comfortably seating around 8 individuals. It has a Slatted Outdoor top crafted out of Ipe Hardwoods with a Teak Color.
The combination of Ipe Hardwoods, an Outdoor Monocoat finish, and a smooth slatted top provides the utmost durability to withstand humidity and outdoor temperature fluctuation.

This traditional wine room was designed and built by Wine Cellar Specialists. They incorporated X-bin wine rack for bulk storage.
To prevent temperature fluctuations and varying humidity levels, they installed US Cellar Systems' wine cellar cooling system (RM2600).

We were given the challenge of designing a house overlooking a pond on a site constrained by wetlands. Our client had an interest in permanence and solidity and a desire to work with architectural concrete. Additionally, the client desired interiors that would showcase their substantial art collection. Our design approach began with the footprint of an L-shaped courtyard house, which in part, was determined by the limited buildable area. The house is sited on a natural rise in the land, allowing the first floor elevation to rise 15 ft above the pond’s surface; this height provides dynamic views through the trees that separate the house from the pond. Ultimately, our design leverages the inherent capabilities of architectural concrete i.e. its structural capacity; the material allows for bold cantilevers and expanses of glass, creating greater transparency between interior and exterior environments.
The interior palette is comprised of rift sawn oak with 16-inch wide oak plank flooring, oak casework and millwork, a stainless steel and glass main staircase, and minimalist concrete details throughout. On the upper level, the plan accommodates a master bedroom suite, three children’s bedrooms, and a family room. The first floor includes a guest bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, office, and family room. The ground level has a recreational room, a mudroom, and office/studio. The site plan employs native plantings and includes a small resistance pool in the courtyard.
Concrete will be utilized for all of the house’s structural and insulation components. This method modulates the fluctuation of interior temperature, creating both an energy-efficient envelope and enough concrete mass to keep temperatures moderate and consistent throughout a 24-hour day. The employment of triple-glazed windows and a triple-glazed aluminum curtain wall further increases the project’s energy efficiency and allows the house to have abundant glass. Natural light permeates the interior and affords spectacular view in all directions of both Todd Pond and the neighboring woodlands.

This homeowner chose to upgrade their home's patio door with one from Infinity® from Marvin. Built in Minnesota and designed to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations, Infinity® from Marvin offer optimum energy efficiency, beauty, and lifespan. A transom window was included to allow more natural light to enter the home.

Metal roofs are becoming more available and affordable for residential installations, but they are not all created equal.
Our standing seam sheet-metal roofing system is assembled using a hidden fastener clip system installation method, which allows for an expansion and contraction of the roofing panels with the temperature fluctuation but more importantly, there are no exposed fasteners that can eventually fail. This results in increased longevity of the installation of the roofing system.
For this project we fabricated our panels on-site and to exact dimensions. This method reduces excessive waste of material and allows for adjustments to achieve a high-end custom look and will retain the aesthetic appeal of your home well into the future.

The entry gate by Julia Krantz Movelaria uses different types of wood and fluctuating shapes to create a modern, lyrical statement in the topical mountains north of Sao Paulo.

This project entailed the draining of a 200,000 cubic foot pond which was originally constructed in the early 1900s in order to install a water feature. I had previously dammed the lower pond, which was roughly equivalent in size to the upper pond, with stonework to match the existing stone walkways. The lower pond will be utilized as a catch-basin in an effort to keep the upper pond’s water level at a sufficient height through a pump system.
After the removal of over a 100 years worth of sediment, I began constructing several terraces, stone steps, stone walkways, and several stone retaining walls — all stone features were built without the use of mortar so as to allow plant growth, such as vines and flowering plants to grow through the stonework.
The difficulty I faced, oddly enough, was trying to be as random as possible with the placement of the stones, so as to make the stonework appear as though it had been built alongside some of the pre-existing 100-year-old stone walls scattered across other areas of the property. In essence, I forced myself to leave larger gaps in between stones where I typically wouldn’t, as well as leave some stones protruding from the wall, and allowing the wall to slightly fluctuate in height. All of which required me to become a perfectionist of randomness, which was quite trying of me.
The top 2 feet of the 2,000-foot upper pond was then faced and retained with stone.
