This dining room was built around an artisan table that was a prized possesion of the clients. It was made entirely without nails by a Seattle artist. To compliment the table, Alexandra Rae created a room in the vein of master Mid Century furniture makers. The brass chandelier, carved floating buffet and tufted velvet saber leg chairs subtly nod to Mad Men chic. Details like the sculptural vases, hand carved candle sticks and poured concrete lamps ground the space with the same post modern artisanal personality of the dining table

The Carmody Table features a sturdy planked top and trestle legs, and provides comfortable seating for six. In addition, our finishing process highlights the organic texture of wood with its pores, ridges, slits and grooves; each piece is a tactile work of art that is truly meant to be appreciated by touch. We made every effort to visually meld the dining room with the living rooms without applying the same wall covering. This bold blue and white geometric gives a modern twist to a room with traditional corner cabinets. The overall color scheme of blue and white can be accessorized with different contrasting colors as desired for completely different looks.

t may be hard to tell from the photos but this custom round dining table is huge! We created this for our client to be 8.5 feet in diameter. The lazy Susan that sits on top of it is actually 5 feet in diameter. But in the space, it was absolutely perfect. The groove around the perimeter is a subtle but nice detail that draws your eye in. The base is reinforced with floating mortise and tenon joinery and the underside of the table is laced with large steel c channels to keep the large table top flat over time. The dark and rich finish goes beautifully with the classic paneled bright interior of the home. This dining table was hand made in San Diego, California.
