Inspiration for a timeless entryway remodel in DC Metro

This ski-in, ski-out condo features a strong Arts and Crafts influence. The interiors feature reclaimed oak floors, mortise-and-tenon carpentry, stone, and custom period details.

Located in the heart of Culver City, this clean, modern residence consists of a 3000sf main house and a 2000sf guest house which engage each other across a sloping lawn and pool. With pocketing and stacking floor to ceiling glass sliding doors, the dialogue between indoors and out is constant. Plaster, exposed steel, board-formed concrete and ipe siding are used inside and out, further blurring the distinction. The floor plan is open and fluid, yet maintains privacy on the narrow lot. Carte Blanche performed complete architectural and interior design services for this project.

At the Ferguson home we did a full stair remodel. Much of the existing stairs were removed to make way for new oak treads, our Pescheria pattern of wrought iron balusters in our Midnight Bronze powder coated finish, and refinished newels and handrails. The transformation took a mundane stairway to a whole new level.

We had the honor of supplying the Tumwater Barrel House Winery their exterior siding. The Barrel house was the Hub of the 2016 Northwest Natural Street of Dreams home show. This siding was done using a 1x10 shiplap cedar select grade siding material with an 1/8" gap.

The privacy trees help enclose the patio making for a very intimate setting.
