Herringbone laid floor tile, rough knotty alder cabinetry, with a vintage finish on the island and touches of metal in the copper hood and sink.

We added at no additional cost, another several loads of 4-way soil mix to complete this project, during a wet period that would have never allowed responsible construction to take place without it. On our last visits there, the owners confirmed that several neighbors commented that their project/landscape/home was the most attractive in this new community. We made so many return trips for follow-up, that we definitely feel we've gone far beyond the "extra-mile" to accommodate these customers. We are particularly proud of the fact we worked thru weather extremes, utilizing innovative techniques to continue despite the conditions (planking over saturated soils, etc.) to help the new owners meet their landscape deadlines to assist in their meeting their Move-In date they requested for this new home.

This transformation started with a builder grade bathroom and was expanded into a sauna wet room. With cedar walls and ceiling and a custom cedar bench, the sauna heats the space for a relaxing dry heat experience. The goal of this space was to create a sauna in the secondary bathroom and be as efficient as possible with the space. This bathroom transformed from a standard secondary bathroom to a ergonomic spa without impacting the functionality of the bedroom. This project was super fun, we were working inside of a guest bedroom, to create a functional, yet expansive bathroom. We started with a standard bathroom layout and by building out into the large guest bedroom that was used as an office, we were able to create enough square footage in the bathroom without detracting from the bedroom aesthetics or function. We worked with the client on her specific requests and put all of the materials into a 3D design to visualize the new space. This bathroom includes a cedar sauna room that is incorporated inside of the shower, the custom cedar bench follows the curvature of the room's new layout and a window was added to allow the natural sunlight to come in from the bedroom. The aromatic properties of the cedar are delightful whether it's being used with the dry sauna heat and also when the shower is steaming the space. In the shower are matching porcelain, marble-look tiles, with architectural texture on the shower walls contrasting with the warm, smooth cedar boards. Also, by increasing the depth of the toilet wall, we were able to create useful towel storage without detracting from the room significantly. This entire project and client was a joy to work with.

We usually have a galley style kitchen in the Oasis but this desk was requested. I love working with clients that have ideas that I have been waiting to bring to life. All of the owner requests were things I had been wanting to try in an Oasis model. The table and seating area in the circle window bump out that normally had a bar spanning the window; the round tub with the rounded tiled wall instead of a typical angled corner shower; an extended loft making a big semi circle window possible that follows the already curved roof. These were all ideas that I just loved and was happy to figure out. I love how different each unit can turn out to fit someones personality. The Oasis model is known for its giant round window and shower bump-out as well as 3 roof sections (one of which is curved). The Oasis is built on an 8x24' trailer. We build these tiny homes on the Big Island of Hawaii and ship them throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

This homeowner requested a powder room that "Sparkles"! Building on the custom designed and made vanity, I chose a layered paint technique that used grays and a silver metallic wash. The pure white marble countertops sets off a curve that follows the bow front of the vanity. For the 'sparkle', I added the small chandelier of stars shaped crystals, the starburst drawer pulls and a faceted crystal door handle. The majority of the basement was designed to have an open concept with a small living room and a large office space. A small utility room was created with additional storage and a small fridge, separated from the rest of the basement by a sliding barn door. Additional power outlets and new pot lights in the ceiling required a pony box to be installed, providing enough power for the new additions. New stairs and proper support for the basement landing made the basement safe for everyone to enjoy and doors were added to hide the workspaces from the main living area. The laundry room had it’s original concrete sink demolished and removed to allow for a sleek modern replacement with storage. The layout of the laundry machines was also altered to create a better flow and functionality to the room. The homeowners requested the window boxes remain unfinished throughout the basement to allow more flexibility in the future when the windows are replaced.

A spacious layout was achieved by taking down the wall between the cramped U-shaped kitchen and the under-utilized dining room. Removing this wall provide the wide open space needed for additional cabinet space as well as a large stone island with seating. The kitchen is now far more functional for the clients' modern lifestyle following the removal of soffits around the perimeter, which allowed for full height cabinetry and full size appliances. This project is new construction. The client downsized from a large home in Leawood KS. For their new home they requested a neutral palette for all their furnishing and furniture that was comfortable, worked well with dogs and grandchildren. It was important that the style of the home and the furnishings not be to trendy but be classic in styling and age well with time. This home reflects many different layers of interesting material selections, including the mirrored back splash in the Kitchen and the marble accents in the bathroom, stunning high end furniture, fabrics, area rugs and drapery. The clients love their new home as do their 2 cockier spaniel pups!
