Inspiration for a kids' room remodel in Atlanta

The three+ acre site for this house slopes gently down through a natural meadow under a grove of Palmetto trees to the marshes of the Colleton River. We placed the house at the top of the hill and angled the house so that the view is blocked from the entry. Upon entering the front door you are wowed by the view through the meadow to the river. The exterior color is Sandstone Beige (James Hardie). The metal roof is 4M metals “Evergreen.” The chimney, and foundation piers are scored tabby (stucco with oyster shells). The lattice is painted Sherwin Williams “Shade Grown.” The brick is Old Carolina “Savannah Gray.” The front door was custom made. It is douglas fir with Minwax “Natural Beige” stain. John McManus
