The Brunschwig & Fils ikat fabric in shades of navy and seaglass inspired the interior color palette and found their home as pillows on the Cisco Bros Genevieve sofa. Lee Industries chairs covered in Brunschwig & Fils blue linen flank the Zentique wood plank coffee table. A sisal area rug anchors the seating group.

Wanting more space, or the illusion of more space, is something we hear frequently. To that end, a floating cabinet has a lot to offer. We thought the designer's idea to add this open shelf below the cabinet was a really nice touch. It looks awesome, breaks up the lines, and offers a handy place to display decorative or frequently used kitchen items without sacrificing valuable counter top space.

This allowed more usable countertop, while a shift in the range-top introduced appropriate landing space. Plays on cabinetry depth offer planned visuals while slyly answering functional needs. These custom “pop-outs” integrate the range-top’s extra depth and provide more space between the sink and window to decrease water spray upon glass. These embellishments coordinate with the existing window, and accentuate a backdrop worthy of frequent entertaining.

Designed by Katy Shannon of Closet Works The extra space below the shorter hang compartment creates a closet hutch, allowing room for a vanity mirror to do makeup checks. A valet pole offers the perfect resting place for a frequently used purse or the next day's outfit.

This kitchen cooking area combines rustic charm with modern functionality. The warm wood cabinetry and natural stone countertops create a grounded, inviting feel, while the elegant range hood adds a touch of sophistication. The tiled backsplash in neutral tones complements the wood grain and provides a cohesive backdrop for the space. A convenient open shelf above the range offers storage for essential items, and the hanging rod below adds practical space for frequently used utensils. This design strikes a perfect balance, making the kitchen both visually appealing and highly functional for everyday cooking and entertaining.

Narrow pullout cabinets with custom inserts on each side of the range offer convenient storage for frequently used cookware, oils and spices. Julie collaborated with the Sea Ranch Association to get a new fire-retardant exterior siding material approved. Traditionally, only cedar shingles, planks, and other wood products were allowed to preserve the area's principles of light environmental impact. Introducing Tru Exterior Nickel Gap siding required presenting many samples to the Design Review Committee. This new material mimicked the look of natural stained wood but offered better fire resistance and durability with less maintenance. Its approval marked a significant environmental saving, eliminating the need for frequent treatments. Now, over 250,000 linear feet of this siding have been installed in various Sea Ranch projects.

Our clients embarked on a renovation journey to transform their cherished countryside cottage, focusing on revamping the kitchen and basement. Despite modernizing the space, we preserved its original rural allure. Notably, our kitchen cabinet layout accomplishment stands out as our clients initially doubted the feasibility of accommodating both an island and a dining table within this area. By integrating a banquette into the island, we eliminated the need for circulation space on one side of the dining table, granting our clients an additional 42 inches of room. Another distinctive feature in this country-style kitchen is the walk-in corner pantry equipped with automatic lighting, offering great convenience to those who frequently access dry goods, canned items, and essential ingredients. In summary, this project not only met but exceeded our clients' expectations, ensuring years of enjoyment with their family.
