This small bedroom had just enough space for a King sized bed and chest. The chest has two functions: it acts as a nightstand and a dresser. This room proves that small spaces can be beautiful spaces.

Copeland's craftsman style Mansfield bedroom furniture is handmade in Vermont of solid cherry wood. Mansfield's solid cherry platform bed is low and sleek, designed for a mattress only. Matching case pieces include chests, dressers, night stands, a 3 drawer chest with organizer options for home entertainment equipment and a laptop desk that creates a trim, functional workspace.
Craftsman Style Meets Modern Design
Taking inspiration from arts & crafts style furniture as well as modern designs, Mansfield features a striking combination of the familiar and the unconventional. The artistic craftsman style design variation features 45 degree mitered corners “sawhorse” frames supporting the cases from the exterior. Forty-five Degree Miter construction refers to the angle in which solid wood tops and solid wood sides are joined to create a perfectly seamless perimeter. Stylistically, these cases are highly refined and visually Modern. The technique to produce this style of case requires extreme precision and is only attainable through exacting detail. The leading edge of each case is beveled to present a thin delicate, line that belies their considerable heft. This collection’s solid cherry wood construction and black bronze ring pulls make complex facets that create visual interest and highlight the superior precision craftsmanship.

Voila! The transformation is complete. We addressed the fireplace by covering the existing facade with a modern stacked stone and a custom reclaimed burl wood mantle. We brought the ceiling into play by hanging a fabulous Currey and Co. iron chandelier. It is artistic and interesting. The yellow leather tufted chair and orange chests draw the eye to the far corners of the room. The sofa and chair are upholstered in a soft performance velvet so young children can use the space without concerns. The computer/desk work area adds another level of functionality to this space for a growing family.

The homeowners of this Marblehead home hired SV Design to update and create a modern and unique look for their coastal home. The exterior architectural changes of the shingle-style house focused on reconfiguration of windows and modifications to the exterior walls of the kitchen to allow for more functional interior space. The client’s penchant for color allowed for the inclusion of unique textiles, décor, and furnishing pieces that were tastefully intertwined with their personal art collection. Bold statement, graffiti art adorns the custom barn doors and adds an element of fun and personal touch to this project. The art was carefully chosen and personalized for the family. One door was painted by local graffiti artist, Mike Grimaldi and another was printed by a local graphic art company.
SV Design created dramatic architectural design elements including a cathedral ceiling in the kitchen with beams added for visual interest and to create a larger volume of space in this single-story area. The kitchen’s footprint was extended for functionality and flow. The space has a streamlined layout and design that balances color with a mix of different finishes. Materials such as wood, painted cabinets, and mixed metal tones, work harmoniously with a beautiful quartzite countertop and backsplash.
The homeowners purchased this home after downsizing from a large home right at the beginning of the pandemic. This created some unexpected challenges requiring the design team to include flexible and innovative spaces throughout the home. The laundry room for example, can be used as an office space for virtual meetings or for the couple’s teenage, twin daughters who needed space for remote schoolwork. The music room is a space designed as a place where the family could practice the piano and French horn but could also accommodate a roll out dance mat and bar for virtual ballet lessons. On the lower level, there is a large built-in wall with a murphy bed for guests that tucks away easily to make additional floor space. There is additional display space on the open shelves and guest clothing storage with a chest of drawers at each bedside. The entire renovation was carefully planned to create and maximize beautiful functional spaces for the North Shore family to enjoy.

The Oliver mindi wood accent chest is an unique combination of a slat inspired design and a sideboard, functioning as storage and adding style to your living space. This piece is made out of natural mindi wood, and this design's only limit is your imagination.

The client requested a spa like feel with rustic influences to capture the ‘up north feel’. She also requested a desk/vanity for storage and function. We delivered on all points. The Century bed with a leather surround and branch posts combines today’s design influences with the great outdoors. The Bernhardt side chests and dresser provide plenty of storage while exhibiting style and convenience. The auto closure drawers and push style openings make this piece a gem. The lamps by Rejuvenation were the client’s pick and worked well with the furnishings. The waterfall area rug by Surya complete the look with warmth, comfort and color to coordinate client’s artwork over the bed. The built in vanity by Stillwater Cabinetry of Petoskey has plenty of storage space behind beautiful custom painted doors. The mirror hides medicine cabinet shelves for additional storage. The lighting emits perfect hues for applying make up and dressing table function. We had the plugs and switches installed inside the upper cabinetry for ease and application. I have used this style in numerous masters and it gets rave reviews from the homeowners. The finish is carried over into the master bathroom cabinetry and the Cambria quartz countertops combine the spaces for uniformity.

The Tonio chest serves as an excellent example of Laura Kirar's ability to curate influences from different movements. This chest, which can function as a desk, bar or storage piece, marries decorative elements inspired by primitive weavings and traditional Spanish floor tiles with functionality reminiscent of Art Deco highboy chests.

Following the purchase of this beautiful home, we were brought on to create living spaces tailored to the needs it's new occupants and provide a much needed update. This included the kitchen, common areas, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, paint, new floors, countertops, and more.
Working around a price sensitive budget for this home's full renovation was a nice challenge and our biggest accomplishment. It was essential for the finished product to be high-end, while maintaining it's functionality and durability for years to come. We accomplished this with lots research to find the same high-quality materials at the best price points, as well as alternative products of equal quality and design impact.
What was once an outdated house falling short of its immense potential has since been transformed into a beautiful home perfect for both living and entertaining.

This beautiful and functional bedside chest can also be used in a small hall area throughout the home. Can also be painted in other finishes with or without the marble top.

The entertainment console/bookshelves unit in the living room is built with inset doors with beadboard panels, crown moulding and flush mount wrought iron H-hinges and old world cabinet latches. The beadboard interiors are finished with a warm antique decorative finish. The television is incorporated into the design without being overtly dominant to the piece. Also incorporated into this design is a old steamer trunk which functions as a linen closet with removable trays within.
