Inspiration for a contemporary medium tone wood floor bedroom remodel in Denver

This expansive Victorian had tremendous historic charm but hadn’t seen a kitchen renovation since the 1950s. The homeowners wanted to take advantage of their views of the backyard and raised the roof and pushed the kitchen into the back of the house, where expansive windows could allow southern light into the kitchen all day. A warm historic gray/beige was chosen for the cabinetry, which was contrasted with character oak cabinetry on the appliance wall and bar in a modern chevron detail. Our designer has achieved a stylish look by combining dark cabinets and light-colored marbles.

In the living room, ceilings soar two stories to create a feeling of vastness. The catwalk keeps things balanced by connecting the upstairs with the lower floor. Clad in wooden paneling, the walkway spans the width of the living room, carving out volume below for extra seating. The view from the kitchen down hOMe, our modern 207sf tiny house on wheels. Note the storage space under each step on the stairs. They provide 25sf of storage space. The desks fold down as do the chairs. The heater is a propane unit. The bathroom is just beyond the red curtain and the end.

This client wanted to experience Santa Fe in Sierra Madre. Challenges were the steep hillside lot, great views, fire concerns and narrow car access. We created a rustic home with a low profile, lush surroundings and an air of quiet tranquility. This rustic southwestern house uses reclaimed vegas and logs for the structural system and asphalt emulsion mud adobe walls for the finish. The house is like an adobe village separated into four structures connected by verandas, courtyards and log bridges.
