The industrious clients came to us with dreams of a new garage structure to provide a home for all of their passions. The design came together around a three car garage with room for a micro-brewery, workshop and bicycle storage – all attached to the house via a new three season porch – and a native prairie landscape and sauna structure on the roof. The home’s façade features several contemporary accents that, combined, create an eye-catching grand entrance. I love to add an organic element to the exterior and the mahogany wood slats fulfill this component. They add a warmth that some contemporary homes are lacking. The experts at Four Seasons Outdoor Living completed my vision with their beautiful landscaping. Several patches of monkey grass line the large, rectangular concrete blocks that lead right up to the 8-foot high door. LBJ Construction brought my vision of a large, stunning doorway to life. The home originally had a standard 6’ 8” door. We removed the outdated window shutters for a more polished appearance. New windows and a brand new roof not only add to the curb appeal, but make for a much more energy efficient home in the heat of the Houston summer. I truly enjoyed working with these amazing professionals. This was an extremely fun project with a phenomenal outcome.

beautifully designed outdoor lounge area with a modern, minimalist aesthetic. The focal point is a built-in, open fireplace with a sleek, marble or stone surround, adding warmth and ambiance to the space. Adjacent to the fireplace is a sunken seating area framed by concrete and wooden bench-style seats, illuminated subtly with recessed lights that create a cozy atmosphere in the evening. The surrounding landscape features drought-tolerant plants, including succulents, grasses, and a prominent cactus, adding a touch of desert-inspired greenery. The flooring consists of large, square concrete tiles with adjacent patches of artificial grass that add texture and contrast to the space.
