An intimate park-like setting with low-maintenance materials replaced an aging wooden rooftop deck at this Bucktown home. Three distinct spaces create a full outdoor experience, starting with a landscaped dining area surrounded by large trees and greenery. The illusion is that of a secret garden rather than an urban rooftop deck. A sprawling green area is the perfect spot to soak in the summer sun or play an outdoor game. In the front is the main entertainment area, fully outfitted with a louvered roof, fire table, and built-in seating. The space maintains the atmosphere of a garden with shrubbery and flowers. It’s the ideal place to host friends and family with a custom kitchen that is complete with a Big Green Egg and an outdoor television.

This green roof features peek-a-boo views of the empire state building and plenty of planters and grass abound, letting residents connect with nature up in the sky. A nearby penthouse with a wine cooler provides tenants with ease as they host roof top soirees.

This garage rooftop project is located in Red Hot Chicago's Lincoln Square area. This overall view of the space shows a lounge area, a nice dining space, grass area with elaborate veggie/herb garden attached.Other mentionables are 10' fire-tables with offset 6' linear burner. A 55" 4K outdoor tv & 20 outdoor speakers with separate amp driven subwoofer. These fireproof retractable Deep Gray shades pillow from the pergolas roof. Night shots brings on a different vibe.

This project had to make it through the scrutiny of 3 levels of review: the building owners, the Dept of Bldgs, and since it was the West Village, Landmarks Preservation Society . Thankfully, the latter organization encourages the useage of plants to screen all construction related materials and we happily complied by building living walls anywhere the roof had site lines to the street.

Enjoy the sights and sounds on this 40 ft x 30 ft outdoor green living rooftop deck which sits directly out of the top floor modern family room. Enjoy the breathtaking unobstructed 360 degree views of water and mountain range. Living roof has 10 species of living evergreen grasses and full succulent area. Concrete pavers and Brazillian hardwood decking with black rock accents outline the ornamental grasses and succulent areas. Resin loungers and modular seating with fire table keep star gazing on cool nights warm. This modern pool uses a unconventional mosaic color giving a beautiful and distinctive look. The mosaic is color 260, and it has bands of aventurina, which gives it a subtle glittery effect. The industrious clients came to us with dreams of a new garage structure to provide a home for all of their passions. The design came together around a three car garage with room for a micro-brewery, workshop and bicycle storage – all attached to the house via a new three season porch – and a native prairie landscape and sauna structure on the roof.
